Mazdaspeed 3 Factory "Sport Exhaust" Noise

Well s*** now I have to find out for sure about a ECU tune because if so that would really dick the warranty and thats not something I want to do.

What all is envolved with an ECU tune anyway?

Well Whitey, there are different tunning solutions. The CPE tunning would be idea considering you can alter boost, a/f ratio, timing, and a few other things. Where there are some that just tune boost, and a/f ratio. But then again thats all I would need or like to have is boost and a/f.

Look, if you're seriously looking at TBE you'd better be ready to get engine management as well or your car is going to run like s***. I don't know why that guy says that, maybe because EM can be expensive and he doesn't want people to back out of buying his TBE.

But you can't seriously be looking into upgrading your car without some form of EM.

What are you talking about? I have never heard of tuning solution for a tbe. ALL it does is reduce back pressure. THATS IT!! Less back pressure, faster and better flow and thus better turbo spool and response, period. (ugh)

it isn't worth it at all from what i've read... no gains to be seen from a cat back exhaust. if you enjoy the sound of the stock exhaust, i'd just leave it that way.

Has anyone done a before and after comparison dyno on the Mazdaspeed CBE? I installed it 2 weeks ago and I swear it DOES feel stronger. I plan on doing a dyno soon. I dynoed the stock config, then added the Mazdaspeed CAI and dynoed it again. This will clear up the confusion if no one else has done it already.

Only the ole butt dyno. That'll be good to get some actual fact base numbers around this exhaust. I for one am very curious, keep me updated when you get the dyno results.

The only 2 things that are holding me back are 1) not enough free time and 2) don't know if Dynojet Research dyno system will show consistent comparison with different atmospheric conditions. When I did my last dynos, the ambient temperature was quite a bit lower and humidity was 50% whereas now it is 63%.

Does anyone know if Dynojet will compensate properly or will there still be some losses due to increased intake temp and different humidity?

I want to install the factory sport exhaust in my Mazdaspeed 3 to complement the CAI, which has been very successful. However, I'm reluctant to change the exhaust without ever hearing the system. Has anybody in the Boston area installed the exhaust? Could I have a listen? I would really appreciate this.

Just wanted to let you all know that I installed my CBE without my wife knowing about 3 weeks ago and she still hasn't asked me why my car sounds different. My point is that this exhaust doesn't change the db of the exhaust too much. The change is subtle enough that it isn't too loud. Also, the note is a more beritone, deeper note than stock that sounds sweet! I haven't noticed any droning at all either. I feel that there is more power too; dyno coming soon!
