Mazda's HID lights

Is it me or does the mazda HID lights seem to be aimed lower than other cars? I mean I have my level set at 0 and it seems that the cut off line for the lights needs to be higher ... is there a way to raise them? I always have to use my high beams and it just seems the low beams need to be higher??

This is one of the only cars that has the HID lights aimed properly, so as to not piss off the guy in front of you.

But I'm sure the car has a manual method of aiming the lights if you feel so inclined. Possibly someone with the proper manual can give the method??

interesting. i have noticed this as well. at first i didn't know they raised and lowered, but even raised all the way, it seems low. i, too, was surprised

i tried adjusting mine the other night as i hate how low they are - specially when you drive in a dark area and you go down hills and they auto level down furhter, end up seeing jack all in front and can only follow the road by the car in front

Exactly my point...maybe I should call mazda and ask if they can adjust them.

i love the HID's in Steven's car. i wish my mazda6 had HID's

should have finished off my post haha - so i tried adjusting with failure - no movement at all - so ill have to take it into mazda or ring them and ask how i adjust these things.
i have 6000k prolumen globes in also

I didn't realize how low the HID's actually go, until I drove a Miata yesterday for the first time. I know the car sits alot lower, but the lights were definitely aimed alot higher. Enough to blind any on-coming cars, and even when driving behind someone. I think the HID's on the Miata were brighter and may have even been a different temp, as they were much whiter, almost bluish.

the issue is the headlights are VOR type beam pattern... a poor implementation for US spec compliance.... not a problem for overseas models, and not a problem with the miata either because they have the upsweep beam pattern

there's nothing you can do about this short of upgrading to EDM headlights.... $$$$$$$

aiming it higher will just bring dangerous glare

Hey guys a couple of questions for you all who know a lil something about these hids i have an 04 mz3 n/a it has the projector style headlights...My first question is could i put in an hid bulb and how do i know if i already have the ballast for them? Secondly i have 6000k bulb in the low beam spots they do seem to really low towards the ground...In my other car i didnt have this problem and they were 6000k bulbs as well....Should i try adjustin them?because they dont do s*** for me at night on a dark 2 lane road...if yall were wonderin i have the mtech xenon bulbs....www.automotivelightingusa.com

meh, where I drive there's lot of city lights, so its never a problem. I can see out on all the back roads or places where there's hardly any light where one might wish they were a bit higher. I'm too lazy to do anything about it though

Dude get bent, who said anything about blinding on coming drivers... if you read everyones post you would see that its a common problem and the lights should be raised a few but not high enough to blind people...its people like you that ruin the forums because they cant keep their fat mouth shut and think they know everything

The lights are at a federally mandated hight. Any higher and with road crown oncoming traffic gets it. So your "little" can't happen.
