probably will run 215/45R18 after the van gets lowered.

Those wheels look great!

Switched mine up last week, sold the other wheels to buy parts for my 8.1l Chevy.

As an aside, the specs are 16x7 et30 16x8 et35ish

Okay so don't know if I'm the first one to do this but I certainly have not seen any 2nd gen on RX-8 wheels. My girl and her new kicks. Sorry about the crappy night time pic. I'll post up another day time pic hopefully tomorrow. I just couldn't resist.

Davicho, that looks excellent. I truly believe that there isn't a Mazda those look bad on. Saw them on a track prepped Miata and they looked awesome on it as well.

Did you get new tires or swap from the Speed 3's? I just painted mine black sparkle metallic.

Loosenut, I iust swapped my existing tires that were on my MS3s. I just bought tires about a month ago so they're still brand new. 225/40R18

Nice set up you got too. Did you paint them yourself? They look great! I pondered the idea of going black but I wasn't sure. Now that I left them silver and installed them I'm happy that I left them alone. In the future I may get them powder coated in a gun metal color but for now I'm happy.

What tires did you get? The size looks good. Painted them myself with a hvlp unit that I use for my other hobby, woodworking. I had to fix some curb rash and decided to try something different. I like your thoughts for the color of your wheels. They look really good as is though!

Thanks, it's an ebay splitter that does a pretty good job of hiding the damage a previous owner wrought upon the front bumper leading edge.

Loosenut, I bought these from them and although they are an "economy" tire I am very pleased and impressed by them.

My brother in law who is an ADT installer and uses his own Accord to drive to his job sites bought these same tires, in a different size of course, and after 15k miles they still look brand new and he says they feel great. That's also coming from someone that drives a tuned up WRX with 350hp at the wheels. The reviews are also very good.

I want a splitter just like yours too. In fact I've been searching for it but there's no love for the 2nd gen MZ5s. :(

Well, there is ghosting left in the paint from the bumpers and I know the pinstripe will do the same, so I'm waiting until my detail guy has time to buff it. My wife's CX9 is overdue and will get buffed first though.

Next step for me is probably 225/50 on my lightweight MX-5 17x7 +55 wheels. Anyone run that fitment yet?

the miata guys have run 225/45 on the stock 17's - that's actually the size required for the 06+ cup cars. you will probably be just fine with a 225/50 on the mazda5.

I'm running 225/45 now, which is dead on with the stock diameter of 25.0 inches. 225/50 will take it right up to 25.9/26.0. Considering I ran 215/50 (25.5) and 235/45 (25.3) on the same offsets with no problems I'd tend to agree, but you never know...
