Mazda5 Wheel Fitment & Photo Guide

Still having trouble getting a better pic. I'm gonna have to charge my real camera. I can confirm that 18x8 with a 45 offset and 215 45 18's work with the h&r springs. Slight rub on the part of the plastic part of the inner fender with the suspension fully compressed going around a tight corner at a high rate of speed. ( I should have got 225 35 18's :( next time. ..)

I'm currently running 17x7.5 with +45 offset on my 2012 mazda5 with 225/45/17. I have stock suspension and have not had any clearance issues.

After 3 years of ownership and 50k miles, I installed a set of Gen II Mazdaspeed 3 wheels on my 2012 Mazda 5 along with some 235/40/18. Yes I said it, 235/40/18 and they fit perfectly. I picked the wheels up off of Craigslist for $425 and they are in fantastic condition. I attached some pics showing how well they fill out the wheel wells with no tire sticking out. The last pic was my attempt to show how much wider they look, however, lighting was bad.

Got any full side and 3/4 read shots you can share?

It looks good. (headbang)

Here's a picture of a wheel from a 2001 protege ES on a mazda5. Before i sold them, i had to look around to make sure they would fit on the buyer's car... which was also a mazda5... so i tried one on our car since i couldn't find a picture on the internet. I did find a picture of the other style of protege wheels and a few people said they fit, but i just wanted to be sure...
Here's this for future reference for anyone else who might want a picture... spokes clear the caliper with a little less than half a centimeter.

Are you lowered at all? I'm curious if there'd be any rubbing on a 1-inch drop with 235s.

I'm lowered just over an inch (same as H&R drop) and didn't rub on 235/45-17 on +50 offset. The fitment should be near identical to the 235/40-18.

Had a chance to mount a 19" Mazda 6 wheel on mine. Thought I would throw in few picks. Offset seems perfect. Would need to run a smaller sidewall though.

wow. thanks for sharing. that looks real good. ur right about the sidewall

Thanks for the pics! What size tires are shown on the rims? Did you load the vehicle and check for clearance?

Tire is OE 225/45. I didn't load suspension. It is off the lift and i compressed the suspension a couple of times before taking the pic. Vehicle is stock right now. I was in a hurry when I did this so I didn't get to put it on the back but knowing the wheel fitment on these cars it would fit just fine. I would only be a little concerned about the front if the vehicle was lowered or under heavy suspension compression.

Wow, looks great, but 2 inches too tall! Are you going to keep the wheels on and go to something like a 225/35 tire? If it even exists?

Sorry phunky, I should have clarified, it was a damaged wheel/tire that was going to scrap. I just mounted it on there while I was doing some maintenance to my 5 just to see how it would look. There was a set for sale near me on craigslist and I wanted to see if it was worth consideration. I think that 18" would be the largest wheel I would run with our local street conditions.

A Five pulled onto the street behind me this morning the same color as yours. I was looking at it and thinking, wait, is that thing changing colors? Cool paint! Sweet wheels? EVO?
