Mazda5 owners, the other rides (current and past)

It's jeebus! How you been man, fancy meeting you here...I bought your Cobb AP for the 2006 FXT last year when you went to a custom tune.

So yeah....we found out we were having a second kid earlier this year, so we sold the FXT since it can't accomodate 2 rear-facing seats and 2 adults. Ended up with a 2008 Mazda5 about 2 weeks ago once we decided the Odyssey was too porky and unreliable for our needs (other than the first gen, but it's hard to find a nice one anymore).

Here's the weirdest thing.....I need a sedan for myself now too, and I've been looking at E28 535's for a couple months now, and spending way too much time lurking on mye28.com. Your car is pretty much what I'm looking for, euro bumpers and headlights, but without the M5 style blackout trim and taillights. Wanna sell it?

haha...yeah I am all over the net. Too much so, apparently.

Small world.

Thanks for the kudos on my car. You probably noticed I'm on mye28 as well. I love my e28 but I have considered selling it a few times because I never keep cars for long. It's actually up on jack stands right now because I sold my ground-controls w/koni and have a set of Bilstein sports w/Eibach on the way. Basically I decided I needed it to be a little more comfy since I have to haul the baby around sometimes (we have #2 due in 2 weeks) and the GC setup was too stiff for that.

If you are seriously interested in buying it, PM me. Maybe I'd sell it. Kinda depends on a few things (like how much you are looking to spend, etc).

Ford Ecoboost FTW :)

My dad was always a big Ford fan, but it faded somehow. Out of my head:
195X Ford Fairlane
1975 Ford Maverick (2 door, 4MT)
1977 Ford Maverick (2 door, 4MT)

Ford_Maverick_Grabber.jpg

Plus:

1980 Ford Fairmont (3MT, you could get to 65Kph in 1st gear, LOL)
1985 Ford Carry-All (I inherited it, 4MT)
1987 Ford Topaz (4MT)
1989 Ford Topaz (3AT, I inherited it)
1990 Ford Topaz (3AT, piece of crap)
2003 Ford Escort Wagon (4AT, mom's)

And my brother recently traded a nice Chevy Vectra for a late model Ford Mondeo (not sold here, I like it, very European). A decent car. Ford will start unifying its models and start bringing the European models to NA, crossing fingers...

That is one sweet Maverick.

It is indeed. Let me just clarify that I stole that pic from Wikipedia, so is not the one dad had (I wish I could find some pics). He had a white one with red/burgundy interior and a red one with black interior, both 2 door. The 1st one he wrecked badly but got repaired (with the family on-board, that was a close call). 2nd one just got sold as my mom and sis didn't like the thing :(

Regardless, that pic came closest to what I remember those cars looked like

Nice thread. Here's the dirt on the wife and I:

Current:
His: 2008 Mazda3 s GT sedan (Phantom Blue Mica), 2003 Ford Ranger XLT, FX4 Off-Road (White) I keep the ranger to tow my little POS boat and to transport our kayaks around.
Hers: 2009 Mazda5 Sport (Stormy Blue Mica)

Past:
His: 1999 Dodge Dakota (Dark Green)
1998 Ford Mustang (Black) (Traded for above mentioned Ranger when I moved from Atlanta to Philly due to winter driving. If not for the move, I may still have that car today.)
1995 Ford Thunderbird LX (Black)
I won't go into detail on everything before that. Let's just say a various array of used cars that I could afford at the time I bought them! List also does not include some "toys" that I had. I love muscle cars and have owned a few here and there.
Hers: 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo (blue) (Much like the Mustang above, we would not have gotten rid of this car had circumstances in our life not created a need for a more "family friendly" vehicle)
2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport (Silver)
1998 Ford Ranger regular cab, flare side (Red)
1992 Cutlass Supreme (Burgundy)
1990 Pontiac Sunbird (Burgundy)

Late to the party (as usual)...

This is fun. My old ride:
2976970656_399f311d56_o.jpg

1991 Miata, driven year-round right up to selling it last October. (and my mother-in-law has it now so I still get to "visit" it)
The wife had a 2000 Elantra until I totalled it, that's what spurred the purchase of our 5. It's certainly easier hauling around the baby in what we have now, rather than what we used to own.

Oh yeah, that 928 rules!
