mazda3 sedan problems

At only 1700 miles, I have observed several problems with my M3. First of all the engine check due to a faulty purge valve, vibrating dashboard/ glove compartment on rough road surfaces, excessive brake dust on rear wheels, and cheap front bumper (if you press down hard on the side of the front bumper, you will notice that it will pop out). So far I feel very dissatisfy with my M3. Has anyone observe any of these problems on their M3 yet?

To each his own - but if i were you, I'd borrow my old (2001) Chevy for a week. You'll rethink "owner satisfaction" - trust me.

Those seem like some pretty small problems to me. As asked a couple times before of others who have minor complaints, do you serious hate the car because of a small rattle, a CEL that was repaired, and the fact you have to (heaven forbid) clean your car???

mines got over 11,000 miles on it and the only thing that ive had wrong was my airbag sensor (which the dealership changed pretty fast) and the rear brake dust. maybe someone was slackin off at work the day they put yours together???

Have you tried pressing hard on your sedan bumper? You will see what I mean when I say cheap and poor quality.

yeah i noticed that too and i think someone told me that its like that for a reason. its designed to give way a little in the event of a light bump or fender bender. so when you hit someone your bumper wont bust or dent, but rather pop outta place and maybe need a few clips replaced. my friends truck did that, he hit a snow bank and instead of breakin the bumper it just broke it off and he got some now brackets and put it back on.

That is bizare! Which mean that at 5 mph carsh the bumper will fall off. Another thing I forgot to mention was that when I took my M3 in for warranty service, I received a free car wash. After they had washed my car, I noticed that the front bumper popped out. I pushed it back in and tried preesing down hard on the side and noticed that it popped out. So I realize that it was not the dealer fault for damaging my bumper. It turned out the the bumper was poor quality. This really sucks.

i dont know about 5mph but i know its made to give way a little so it doesnt break. but one thing that i have noticed was the paint. the paint scratches so damn easy. i dont know what color you have but i have winning blue and every time i wash my car i find new scratches.

Mine is titanium grey. Very nice color and doesn't seem to scratch or swirl after a car wash. That is the only good thing in this car that I saw so far. Do you see any problem in yours?

its got a million swirl marks.....and lots of scratches in the clear.

This weekend I will be scouting out at a dealership again. I am getting rid of my M3 possibly for an Acura RSX. Should be better build and quality. Not all car made in japan are the same.

DOOD, dont ever say the bumper is cheap I hit a car head on at 30 km/h beacause of the bad brakes and NOTHING hapened, ok not bad brakes the BAD YEAR tires, NOT even a scratch, I am NOT kiding you, you can complain about the rest but not the front bumper. Keep in mind this is a first year car and everyone has had an issue, You still get a LOT of car for your buck, I am disastified too with certain aspects but when I take my car for a drive, It's uncomparable to anything else that I have driven, and I have driven a s*** load of cars.

For all those complaining about scratched paint, polish the car once a year, not wax, polish, it's only 150 bucks and the car will look like it just came out of the factory, all scratches and swirls gone, I just got my car polished yesterday and it's awesome

You are complaining way too much about your car. You are finding any kind of fault with it and writing about it. Its not fair to a car that has incredible good looks. I think its awesome. I have one. You get way more bang for your buck with the Mazda. Also, Honda does have a swell reputation but it lacks in interior/exterior appeal.(Speaking about the Civic) Acura, a USA made, vehicle is nice but very expensive. Nothing wrong with an Acura.. I dont have any beef with them. Anyway, give your car a chance. If not, then good luck with your Acura. The one thing with the Mazda is that you dont see many out there like the Civic and the RSX instead, you get a chance to own a car that is rarely seen and is different from the rest of the pack.

Better warranty too.
