That doesn't look like it will work. I have a K&N CAI on my 5.

With your K&N, did you or do you notice any real improvement, (gas, performance, sound)?

Also with looking at CAI's for the 08, should anything that would of fit a 07, also fit the 08?

it should work here is pics of my fujita CAI looks the same

mazda5 intake but the part #'s are the same and the mountings and attachments points the same it should work

looks to me like the actual product that you posted njaremka but that one has just alittle more of a curve on top but shouldn't make any difference the biggest thing would be where the bolt down by the filter goes but it looks the same as mine and if ya want more pics just let me know and i will take some more of what area you want.

Hey njaremka i was just looking at the install pics on the injen CAI from http://www.injen.com/galleries/produ...directions.pdf and i can tell you it will work and it would be better than mine you wouldn't need a hydro sheild beacuse the filter sits higher than those slots in the fender well and water wouldn't get on it.

cool, thanks. now i have to convince the wife it will improve her fuel mileage ;)

Just to clear up any confusion I have.

1. What is the part number of the Injen CAI?

2. Looking on their website it just shows for the mazda3, is this the one we are talking about or is there one actually listed for the mazda5 (even if it has the same part number)

3. What year Mazda5 are we talking about? I am interested in the 2008 Injen CAI.

Thanks

yeah, the injen is the one listed for the mazda3 - they have no mazda5 model. thats why i was asking if it would fit - and it appears that it will.

Works fine for me

Sorry for the late post. I have an '06 Mazda5, and installed the Mazda3 Injen CAI. It fits perfectly. I just followed the directions that came with it.

The only thing I adjusted was the little bracket that held one of the hoses in place, which bolts on to the upper pipe. I just bent the old bracket about 90 degrees to have it hold the hose in the same position.

Hope this helps. I personally love the extra growl on acceleration, and I do notice a little bump in hp and mileage.

I don't know about the Injen's but I had a Fujita CAI on my 06 5 and after maybe 6 months the CEL's keep coming on... I just decided to take it off cause it was annoying... It sounded better with it on, but I don't think there was much gain in hp or mpg at all. I actually think the engine pulls better without the CAI just my opinion.
