Mazda3 hatch vs subaru vs mitsubishi

Hi all,

So my Mazdaspeed 6 was read ended on 9-18 and now I'm in the market for a new car. I'm looking at the impreza hatch or sportback as well as the lancer hatch. I know we're on a mazda forum but I'm hoping to get as non biased an opinion as possible and the reason behind the opinion.

Oh and no, I'm not going turbo, more likely the base models since I'm trying to stay in the same range of payment left as I had with the speed 6 since I dont want to spend another 5 years paying it off.

My two cents: Consumer/car magazines tend to find the Mitsu just not as good in the fun-to-drive and fit/finish areas, and some have commented about it being slow off the line. Mitsu's dealer network is more sparse than Mazda or Subaru, and it nearly disappeared some years ago but came back from the dead. The Lancer Hatch is unique looking though. The new generation Subaru is apparently softer/squishier than the model it replaced, but no doubt better riding. The MZ3 is no marshmallow softie in ride for sure. Knot sure about the price differences. The nice thing about a MZ3 is if you get the HB, you don't really need any options unless you want leather or nav systems and such, you get the "good" (BIGGER) motor, the 17" wheels, the "sport" (not to be confused with the MS3) suspension etc. Good luck, it's a great time to be a car enthusiast!
