Mazda upgraded motor mounts

Has anyone else installed the Mazda stiffer motor mounts. The part numbers are from the Mazda USA bulletin:

http://www.finishlineperformance.com/mazda3/docs/0036.pdf

Supposedly it is NOT a bulletin in Canada, the dealer I got them from had never heard of the bulletin, but they are kinda idiots, so who knows. So if you want them up here, you have to order them, or if enough ppl complain, maybe it will become a bulletin.

I just installed them last night, nice difference in feel, although, bumby roads are noticably harsher. They only take about 30 to 45 mins to install (well, took me 30 minutes, but I have a hoist) and they were not too expensive, cost me about $120 Cdn for the pair (but I got a 15% discount off list) On/off throttle transitions are much smoother now, instead of the engine boucing all over the place.

Hmm, so are these going to be used under warranty or is it just an upgrade? From reading it looks like they will be issuing them as warranty but yeah, thinkin I should call up the dealership and complain about unstable cruising or whatever...

Hell yeah! I'll take it in for this to replace mounts 3 & 4 and then put in my AWR mount 1!

Say bye-bye to wheel hop, baby!!

s***... probably going to have to take out the awr for them to put these in...

Unless you're buddies with the tech, yeah.

sadly no... i am buddies with a mopar tech and a gm tech... just wish i liked the cars better... though the new caliber is growing on me....

FYI... retail price on these is $73.05 for one and $55.25 for the other.

That's what I did. Got the dealer to install the new 3 & 4 mounts and just installed my AWR. Frickin sweet!

Now I just have to install the SS brake lines that I've had since January and I'll be all set!

are therse only the 3 & 4, do they have 1, cause I like the AWR, but the vibrations are pissing me off, espacialy on idle with the AC ... and I got the 70 DUROMETER, suppose to be softer, and if I do put the 3 and 4 do you guys think the the vibrations will increase, decrease?

No, they (Mazda) don't have a #1.

Yes, adding a stiffer 3&4 will make it vibrate more. You'll never notice the increase with an AWR installed, though. It sure does shake like hell with the a/c on, eh?

Anyone else re-inforced their AWR 70D mount to make it stiffer? I've started to work on mine, but it's just so damn hot outside to finish.

I was going to put 3 (or 4) 1/4" metal rods in a triangle (or cross) pattern, but after putting the first one in and driving around with it, i've decided to look for 1/2" rods as well.

Looks like I can't even remove the AWR mount anymore without first removing the bracket. I'm not sure how i managed to install it without removing the bracket in the first place.

You want it stiffer than the 70D mount? What the heck for? Might as well just stick a solid hunk of steel in there.

To install without removing the bracket, just remove both bolts, slide it back off the bracket, push the motor back with a pry bar, rotate the mount to the side and then slide it out diagonally. Easy-peasy.

Installing it was relatively easy, it's removing the AWR mount without removing the bracket-- that's a little more difficult. The stock mount has really soft rubber which made it easy to remove. I'll try it again tomorrow.

My gf doesn't seem to mind the 1st re-inforcement. I already got parts to make sure removal of other reinforcements only takes a few secs, just in case she starts to complain ;)
