Mazda Tuning Shops

Luv my MP5!
:
2002 Protege5
I live in Englewood, NJ. I know there are lots of Mazda Protege owners in NJ that are on this forum, and I wanted to know:

Where do you all get your mods done on your cars? Self? Or at your dealership or a Mazda Tuning Shop?

If you know of a good shop (or a dealership that's enthusiast driven) that's in North Jersey/Bergen County, please let me know. So far I've found one:

The Dealer Alternative in West Orange, former haunts of Flying Miata.

Any others?

i work with a guy that does all my installs in west long branch by the shore
let me know what you need done
we'll work on it

Depends on what type of Aftermarket work you want done!

Chas

Hey thanks guys.

Perfworks, will you be at Englishtown? That's probably a good place to find out where everybody gets their work done. Acdbbg will be there for sure. I don't know if I can make it but I do really want to go prob. Saturday.

Biggest problem right now is money...I'm waiting for it to grow off of some trees right now.

im waiting for some parts to come in this week
install and should be there at the end of the month
let me know when your going

Hey, Perfwrks

What type of work are you getting done??

I am getting my NX GEN X2 upgrade kit, Remote Bottle Opener, & guage with A/F Meter by Autometer! I hope to get it all done by this weekend..but it all depends on the weather!!!

(flame)

complete bottom end
head porting
intake porting
removal of the VTCS plates
and looking into adjusting this VICS to open under boost not at 4500 rpm
fuel system upgrade and complete turbo set up

Wow...Sounds like i will have some competition..off the line!

What type of gains are you expecting by...removing the VTCS?

the VTCS is an obruction
especially when your trying to force air and fuel thru both the shaft and the plates. nevermind the fact there is a reversion lip on the inside of the port that has to be ground away
i have found that the atamized fuel wants to cling to the VTCS plates instead of going straight thru the head port. yousee i am using extra injectors so it mixes before the head port
this should increase efficiency and a whole lot of top end performance!

perfworks, can you hook me up with your guys at west long branch? I'm looking into getting some cams and J-spec intake manifold in the near future. I also want to hook up my APEXi S-AFC with those upgrades to take advantage of the increased air flow, does he know how to tune that too?

Acidbbg, do you have any pics of your setup? I hope to be spraying soon too and am curious as to how your kit is done. I've got an extra intake and was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to drill and tap the ind. runners for fogger nozzles. I know it would be easier to just run one in front of the throttle body, just wondering.

Jacking the thread? No no no, not at all...

I'll PM you perfworks tonight if because I have a lot of questions about these stuff...

I will start a Thread soon with pic's of the whole setup!
