WEll i have officially been without my car for about 2 1/2 weeks because my tranny was leaking. Turns out i over torqued the differential, and ****** up everything. They say that my parts caused the over torque or that i took it up to redline one time and it just snapped, but it wasn't there fault. This is such bull**** and to add to that they are making me purchase a 2800 dollar tranny, and then 600 dollars for them to tear it down and figure out what was wrong. I wanna know how my parts which add such a minimal amount of torque to the car compared to the mazdaspeed, and turbo mp3's. And to add to that i cannot talk to a competant (sp?) rep from mazda. Everytime i bring up a point they have no answer and then they just say that they are just the messenger. Mazda is ridiculous with customer satisfaction. And they have lost a customer for good as i willl never be purchasing a mazda nor will any of my friends or family, good luck to those out there with turbo's and high performance, and i pray that your transmissions hold.

tell them to put the car back together, bring it to borgman mazda in grand rapids. they are much better.

wait im confused. did u add something to the tranny? then overtorque a bolt? or did they say ur mods added too much power to the tranny? in that case, I call BS!

With your listed mods, that is not possible.

I would call the BBB and your local attorney generals office.

definitely! OR- get some sort of media investigation, like in grand rapids, we have "target 8 investigations" to help consumers- try it out once.

Nobody is making you do anything. They cannot MAKE you spend $2800 for a tranny and $800 on labor. Tell them to STOP, put it back together, and get the hell out of there and go to a dealer that knows what the **** they're talking about. Then drive into the original dealer and show them the new tranny you got under warranty.

Blah, after turning on sigs, I will say that you've got a quite a few mods. While they probably didn't cause anything, good luck explaining it. Oh well, you can try though!

If you can't get a new one under warranty, you should be able to get a used tranny for REALLY cheap. How many Proteges are sitting in junkyards? A lot.

i too call bulls*** on this...over torqued the tranny from mods...unheard of...usually its faulty shifting, or total incompetance. from your story, i see neither.

contact a lawyer, and DO NOT give your dealer ANY MONEY until you know what the lawyer says.

Man mazda replaced my tranny for free, and it was a automatic, but the problem was that the idiot who installed my system drilled through my firewall and drilled through the wires that went to my ecu, and the wires that were damaged were like the ones that went to my tranny, I took it to the dealer and they thought it was the tranny so i got a new one, then they figured it wasnt the tranny so they replaced the ecu, and then they replaced the harness, All of this was for free. So im guessing since my warranty got all my stuff for free, you should too.

unfortunately i run into the problem of needing a car, the car is undriveable, so even if i wanted to take it somewhere else i cannot. Add to the fact that i am leaving at the end of the week to go to school in the northern region of the state. And i took out the short throw before i took it into the dealership. Oh, they are saying that my parts caused to much torque, which is total bulls***. And then they fed me some crap about how i must have taken it past reline one time, and that is crap, the only time that might have happened was turning the winter, and me hitting some ice or something, but i highly doubt it. If this transmission was not designed to take the redline it was set at, then why don't they just make the redline 4K just to be safe.

hey guess what i was having serious shifting problems with my mp3 and i took it to the dealer 6 times and they finally figured out the last time the clutch pedal was out of adjustment, it drives like a dream. oh and thats bulls*** about redlining it and blowing s*** up.

isn't that the point of having the rev limiter? and i have bounced my rev limiter once when i missed second at the track.

that redline stuff is total bulls***, i have bounced off the rev limiter a few times, and my tranny didnt **** up as a result...also, biknman's 99 turbo'ed pro has bouced on the limiter PLENTY of times, and his tranny is still in tact.
