Mazda Tariffs?

I bought a new CX-5 at the end of August. With this CX-5 being manufactured in Japan, did I pay these extra tariffs that are in the news? The prices for the CX-5 seemed comparable (less actually) to the American made CX-50. The information online is mixed. It wasn’t a concern, because I wanted to get a CX-5 turbo while they are still available. But now I'm curious how Mazda dealers are advertising their inventory isn’t affected by new tariffs, but online searches indicate the opposite.

Not yet. Inventory already in the U.S. = no tariff.

Inventory not yet in the U.S. = Mazda will eat the tariffs for now.

But don't take that for granted. Even U.S. automakers are being shaken down for billions right now. Do not expect that to last long without the customer paying for it.

Tariffs were implemented in April, my vehicle was manufactured in Japan during July, and purchased here (USA) end of August. So I guess Mazda basically paid the extra tariff instead of it being added to the MSRP. I know the tariff amount has changed some recently. Asking AI about this gives incorrect information, apparently.
