Yes! And a two door option:
Mazda really needs to invest in more luxury options and amenities, But then again that would make them more competitive against all of the car manufactures they're building for!. Crappy Kia's are selling like crazy because they have so much to offer. Weather you use it or not it's a big selling point when deciding on making a purchase on the second biggest investment people have.
Kia (Killed In Action)
The quality of parts on a Kia in no way compare.
My friend/neighbor has a Rio 5 hatchback we compared them and the Rio is a nice solid turd.
The 2 feels like its on a high speed railroad track flying around corners. The Rio slips and slides like its on ice, body roll like a bia, and squeeks like a mouse.
This aside Kia is ahead in Hp and amenities! Thats why they are killing it.

Agreed. Mazda should offer a premium version of the Mazda 2. Even if it's in limited amounts. They already do in other countries. Even Thailand gets Projector Headlights, Keyless Entry and Folding Side Mirrors with Turning Signal Indicators. America, the black sheep of the auto industry.
I won't agree on your crappy Kia comment though. They are definitely not crappy anymore.![]()

Yeah radio is nice, all those options are sweet too! Throw in a couple of cute hamsters and watch sales fly.
To be fair, the projector thing is probably due to the fact that Thailand can share assemblies with Japan and other RHD countries.
True, but there are other left hand drive countries that do have the projectors.
I hate the American "large" culture of suburbans, vans and 3/4ton trucks for commuters.
What's funny is the 2 is actually big!
There's a misconception that hatchbacks have no room inside. Which is mostly bogus. Some hatchbacks have more room inside than a sedan. I fit a couch in my old '08 R32. Try doing that with a sedan!![]()
I carried a huge mini fridge (oxymoron) in my 2, barely had to fold the seats down. Got 45 mpg from lowes to my office. Between the surprising cargo space and winter driving ability my poor little truck is sitting in the driveway a lot.
