Ok here is the story:

Last week I received a survey from mazda canada by mail. The goal of this survey was to get my impressions on my dealer and my car, one year after I bought it. I could either fill it on payer or online, ushing the identification code provided in the enveloppe. So I answered online, to every single question... then came the last field: Notes/Comments:

So I talked about the damm bushings... told them that it was totaly inacceptable that once my warrenty will be over, I'll have to pay to get them changed every 5000 miles or so... that was last saturday.

Now tonight (5 days later), I get a call from my dealer's service manager. He wants me to take an appointment to try a "new solution" for the klunk... I was stunned... I never called for an appointment.. and I'm not even due for an oil change. So it seems that the message went to the right person.

I'm still a little doubtfull about that "new solution" but I'll be sure to give you some infos about what it is. My appointment is friday the 29th. I'll post back about this on that night.

Gonna keep my fingers crossed that this is no bulls***.

wow nice.! just make sure they dont rip the damn swaybar out and be like. theres your solution....mwhahahaah

LOL! Either way, if their solution doesn't work, I'll just put a Delsing-like relocation kit once my warrenty expires and that's it.

Yea, seems like everytime I take my speed or 3 in the service guy damn near begs me to fill that thing out or call in. I always wondered if they would actually report back after negative feedback. I'll be sure to say the speed always runs like ass everytime I take it in. Maybe well get a new flash. I know, don't hold your breath right...

I would be worried. They might take you into a soundproof room and just beat you senseless, screaming "HOW'S THIS FOR CLUNK YOU STUPID ****?!"

But thats a big "might"

i can actually see them strapping a guy down and making two objects hit together to make a clunking noise and driving the guy crazy.

I filled out a similar survey from Mazda Canada a few months ago when it had been just over a year since I had my Mazdaspeed. I reported several unresolved issues including a split in the front seat cover, sagging body kit, and the clunking bushings. Within a week, I got a call from the service manager at my dealership and got everything addressed. When I mentioned the ongoing problem with the bushing constantly squeaking and wearing out, he did offer to replacement one more time right before my warranty is up.
I'll be eagerly awaiting if anything comes out of this. Here's hoping! (canada)

LOL i don't have the clunck , they fixed last year and that was it i guess but i don't hear any noise .

I have only <1000 miles left on my warrantee. My rear sway bushings are squeeking, and will soon klunk as the first set did. I hope Mazda come across with a permanent solution to this and the rear valance sag.

the fix they are talking about are 2 metal clamps that they put on the outside of the bushings on each side.
i'll see if i can get u some pix.

i guess thats why my car doesn't have the clunk anymore

the service department gets a monthly bonus based off of their 'rank' of customer satisfaction. When Mazda of [Insert appropriate Non-Asian Country Here] gets a negative survey. The service dept looses out on a bonus. Their rating gets owned. They can recover some of the rating if they make the 'unhappy' customer not quite as 'unhappy'.

Hence the 'free oil change if you fill out all 10's!!!'. If the dealer gets a lot of bad survey's, they could lose other benifits as well. Mazdaspeed dealer status and perhaps drop a discount bracket or two.

Remember, the dealers are not mazda, they are not on your side. Their job is to do whatever they can to make money. think of Mazda of NA as the mediators that ******* punish the dealers when they go bad.

what clips are you talking about, I want to see pics. MY dealer did somethind to mine and I don't get the clunk any longer.. but I have no idea what they did. They told me that they put a washer on the strut somewhere.....haven't looked so I don't know yet.

they rapped the part of the sway bar that touches the busing with tape and mine is gone that and Ive gone through two sets of bushing
this new solution sounds ify

I was talking to my dealer about the the new fix just the other day... He said they glue the bushing onto the bar using windshield sealant, then they grind off all the paint on the bracket. They claim no one has come back after this new fix... I was thinking of trying it but got to lazy and just stuck the bushings on.

I have had two sets of those and it only does so-so.
The bushings still wear out/crack due to the retarded location they are in.
Also it does not prevent the bushings from sliding on the bar.
I have the Desling now so no worries back to the way Racing Beat intended.

With the amount of force exerted on the bushings that sounds like a pretty half assed "fix."
The only way to really correct it is to go back to the design that Racing Beat had for the MP3/MSP in the first place. Everything else is just a stop gap measure to shut you up until you are out of warranty. Not to mention the fact that the swaybar actually functions better when it is properly supported.

Interesting post. I have 10K miles and am already on my 2nd set of bushings. They had to be lubbed a few times as well.
