Hey-
I am looking at putting a catback exhaust system on my '03 protege.

So far all I have added is an AEM sri.
I plan on doing some headers soon, but I was wondering which exhaust would work best for me. (Like most of us) I don't want the high pitch "ricer" sound.

Here is what I have found so far......

borla- $515
bosal- $400
racing beat- $449

Given the prices............which one is going to give me what I want???

Appreciate the help.

Have you looked on eBay? I got one from a megan catback for $340 including shipping and handling. I comes with a silencer but if you take it off your car will have a deeper tone than say a (ricer) civic which is respectabe and sounds alot nicer. They clam 6-10 hp and is made of 2.5" t-304 Sainless steel with polish three stage mirror finish (wow) . has one year warranty and the muffler is 4.5 with angle cut tip. not too bad. (thumb)

personally pretty happy with the magnaflow- you can get it shipped to your door for $330- nice sound and definitely a noticable difference- got mine from ptuning.com through one of the ads at the top of the page- %5 off just by being a member

I have the Corksport PS exhaust... I highly recommend it if you don't have strict emissions laws. It is cheaper than most quality cat-backs and includes the midpipe section to replace the second cat... It also sounds GREAT... not ricey at all. Fitment is also very good. Not sure how Ben leaving has affected things over there though...

would you describe the sound of the corksport system as loud and deap?

I also have the Corksport PS Exhaust, it was awesome till it broke, but it has a really deep tone. It has a lower tone than my fiends Chevy 1500.

anyone have a pic of what the magnaflow exhuat muffler looks like for the mp3?

I'll try and take some pics on my ES sedan. The tip was changed out from 3.5" to 3 to perfect the fit - it stuck out a bit with the original but it might not on your MP3...

Overall, I'm really impressed with the performance and build quality of the system (rockon)

I have the Corksport exhaust and I like it.

Nice sound and it looks good.

if i get a cat back exhaust for the 02-above will it work with a 00?
It should, but there might be an issue with the rear bumper cover and placement of the tip...

Double check and make sure it is for the sedan, they might be thinking the wagon.
