There are two cats on the P5.

One is a can right after the exhaust manifold (see it with hood up), the other is a 'regular' looking cat under the car after the first cat.

Does this help?

I'm gonna have a coupla cheap headers for sale in a week or 2 once I receive the jet-hot coated OBX one I just scored & get it on the car.......that will eliminate the first one and then all you have to deal with is the 2nd one down under the car.

I replaced the OEM pre-cat with a Magnaflow one. The bracket to attach it wasn't quite lined up like the OEM one. I had to use washers.

I also replace the OEM secondary-cat with a Magnaflow one. The flange that connects with the J-pipe didn't line up so I had to grind away at the holes in the cat's flange.

If you bought OEM replacements, they should be the same size.

The secondary is in the midpipe. Did you replace the whole midpipe and it didn't line up? I have the carsound/magnaflow secondary but it was just flangeless 2.25" and I had it welded into the new midpipe I had made that also has flex fitting added. Agree that it sucks that oem replacements don't fit the way oem did.
