i have an 06 sedan MT and i bought the mazda pedals that look like they're aluminum but arent, tried to put em on and the clutch/brake pedals don't fit. i'm confused, i'm hoping it's cause im a retard and don't know how to put these pedals on. are these pedals compatible with the 06 cars? on finishilineperf website it says its for 04-05. if it isn't that'll be a bummer.

Mine fit just fine. Did you follow the instructions and take the rubber covers off the pedals first? (RTM)

Mine also fit just fine. The brake and clutch were a bit tough, but just mess with it for a minute, they do go on.

yea i did take off the pedals. the problem is that the metal is shaped differently than the 04/05 models. instead of that wide groove being horizontal it is vertical on mine so i can't snap the bugger in.

You may be SOL. I just checked the catalog and it's not listed as an available accessory for '06.
That's weird. Of all the things to change on a car, I would never have thought the shape of the pedals would be at the top of the list.

yea, well im hoping the mazdaspeed sts that i just got will be a fit for the 06 cause if not i'm gonna be pissed =/

"mazdaspeed sts"?

Wassat?

As an aside, I wonder how many people know what the tag line under your avatar means. (naughty)

mazdaspeed sts is a "short throw shifter"

pull it together Kane!!!!

You should have gone with the TWM but thats just me.

i wanted to but my dealers a stickler for aftermarket and plus i got them to match ken's price with a 15% off coupon =)

goldwing you mean the "regional tumescence" thing?

Sorry... I don't have one so it's not foremost on my mind.

Yep.

i used to be a geology nerd haha, when i first heard about it i was probably the only one who could associate it in a perverted way.

No need to make any associations. The definition itself is pretty much self-explanatory. Honestly, I didn't even know it had a geological connotation.

(lurk)

(yes)
well if i remember right it was one of the steps for a caldera forming eruption. (but not limited to). basically the steps were:

pressure begins to build as magma begins to rise to the surface, this huge dome begins to form (i think)

the pressure hits its max and a very explosive eruption occurs

after the eruption, there is nothing left in that dome so it collapses and fills up with water

then volcanoes on the rim of the caldera form and pressure begins to form

regional tumescence may occur which is the repeat of the beginning.

so in simple terms: builds up to a point and rises, explodes, collapses, comes back up again to maybe explode one more time and dies down for a long time. you put it together =P

you can find a caldera formation in california at the eastern sierra nevedas, mammoth mountain is one of the mountains on the rim of this kind of eruption, that eruption had an equivalent to something like 300 hiroshima bombs. ok im done being a nerd. :)

if you want to sell your pedals instaed of taking them back let me know... to bad about them not fitting... i got the mazdaspeed sts as well, and hopefully its goin in this weekend if i get my shift boot intime...

Yeah... (boom07)

lol nice goldwing.

i returned the pedals already, i shoulda sold em to one of you guys. i just installed my STS. took me like a freakin hour. stupid pin gave me trouble and trying to take the shifter out (in the end i had to hammer it out). its a lot shorter but the shifter leans towards the driver so it looks weird, it looks like its in first. i got my short shifter for around 155 after taxes. the mazdaspeed only reduces 20% so i can't imagine what the TWM feels like. (boom07)

yeah i was torn between the twm and the mazdaspeed, but for the price (thanks again Ken!!!) it wasn't to bad, and i think 20% reduction is enough anyways...

i keep forgetting to take pictures. on a side note, my dealer gave me the ms protege pedals when i got my car (the salesman didn't know they wouldn't fit my car as did i). any suggestion on how to rig the accelerator pedal onto the mazda3? im trying to figure out a material to wrap over and bolt onto the plastic pedal to form a flat surface for the protege pedal to bolt onto. the clutch and brake pedals im just going to drill them in

Yeah, they changed the pedals in '06. Someone on the Mz3 forum dremeled his until they fit. How much were they?
