Mazda mx-2 ??

Has anyone heard anything regarding Mazda's plans for a mini miata called the mx-2 ?. Found this in Road & Track (sorry for the poor quality) but I can't find anything else on it. Looks sweet though.

Haven't heard about anything on it. But Im trying to picture what a 2 door convertable smaller than a miata would look. Seems interesting though.

It should only have one center-mounted seat, and be sized like the Suzuki Cappuccino or somesuch.

They may bump the mx-5 into the $27k + range and give it comparable power to a s-2000 or the turbocharged Solstice in the future... This would make room for a sub $20k
roadster mini. Other than that I don't see this ever happening.

I like the idea a bunch, but if they're going to make it FWD I want it to top out at 15K loaded.

Was hoping this'd be mid-engined by the drawing... a very poor man's Boxster.

I'm all for a FWD Mini-killer though. Bring it on!

Eh... cool concept to me though... can't see this coming to America though.

I'd rather see my real dream come true-- a Protege-sized 4-door RWD sedan based on the NC MX-5 platform.
