*** Engine Increasing & Maintaining Speed on it own 600yrds from a roundabout. Normal speed of 65mph & then Topping 100 Mph & forcing me to switch engine off & to swerve over into a lay-by to avoid a fatal accident. ***
I waited 5 hours for recovery to arrive & once it did I got the car taken back to my local Mazda dealer, of who checked on the car the next morning. When the afternoon came around of the next day, I was told the problem was not covered under the warranty & that apparently I filled the oil up way over maximum, because I know this wasnt true I done my own research upon speaking to independent engine experts they advised me to ask Mazda for an oil sample & surprise, they refused to do so. 10 Minutes after asking for this I received a phone call to say they understand why I am asking for this sample & that they suddenly found lots of diesel fuel inside the engine oil. Now, they admit I never topped the oil up.
I left the car there for a few days to have another phone call from them to say I have to remove my car from the premises or they will remove it for me and impound it at 24 per day. When I asked them to leave the car outside so I could get it recovered back home, I was forced to pay a 45 fee for checking the vehicle even though its under warranty. I got the car home & asked for a letter from Mazda, the letter stated its a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issue and that I must have been driving the car in town. :S My research found that the car was built & designed ONLY for long distance journeys. I was never told this when purchasing the car, & if I was amongst with the whole of the UK no-one would have bought it.
The dealer told me if I had to go to Tescos which is located 5 minutes from my house I should find an alternative longer route for the DPF to regenerate it self.
After hearing everything about the DPF I am now a master on the subject, so if they think its a DPF fault and that for it to regenerate it needs to be driven at 25+mph or more for 10-15 minutes I was on a long stretch of road driving for an hour at 65mph which would have left plenty of time for this so called DPF to regenerate? They said this is untrue because if the DPF had a problem for a long time it would have built up and thats why it happened. The car HAS a DPF warning light which Is supposed to come on when the DPF needs to be regenerated by its self or will flash when needs to be taking to the dealer. I have NEVER sent this light, and if it were the DPF problem, as Mazda say then the DPF light should still be on & I have not driven the car since I broke down (approaching a month)
Ive been in contact with Mazda Credit, Head Office & the local dealer, they are all rude as can be & backed me into a corner. I am taking this to a solicitor on Tuesday but upon my research I found 100s of others with the same problem but they were unfortunate to not turn their engines off & the engine blew up which left with 8,000+ repair bills. They are just as angry as me but couldnt afford to take this to court after that expense. I took it to understand that any head-office with a customer-care department would take on board any case & try and help the customer, this wasnt like this for me They were rude, ignorant and completely brushed it off as its not important. Everyone on the forums said the same thing.
