2003 Black Mica Mazdaspeed Protege #1012
Mazda Madness was fun. Too bad not as many people turned out as hoped. Sorry I didn't really stick around. My family wanted to eat lunch in Richmond, then we ended up shopping too. And I kinda got bored. :(

Anyways, it was nice to see everybody, and meet new people. Now I've got a few more Proteges to keep an eye out for!

P.S. Sorry for being all whiny and excited about the cracked windshield...lol. I've never had one before...and it was just funny to watch it continue to crack as I drove up...lol.

Dude, it was an experience. And I still had a great time. We'll just have to make it bigger and madder next year.

Heh heh... "o"-right. :D

Hey Mike,
My wife and I both mistaken your mother as your girlfriend or wife before we know she is your mom. Heh, she just look so young.

Oh, another thing.

I have probobly said this before but I just want to get this out of my chest again: The stock Dunlop tires that come with the P5 are absolutely worthless on wet surface.

It almost got me kill twice during my weekend trip in BC. Once I almost got sandwished between an Toyota Land Cruiser and an old Mercury Stable driven by an old lady who obviously never bother to look beyond the car ahead of her.
And on my way back to Seattle just now (at 12:00am), it was pouring so bad on I-5 I could feel my P5 drifting left and right on the lane even I was only going 45MPH. And even worse was this fu_cking Lexus LS430 driving a few car space ahead left to my lane going over 60 and drew a huge 6 foot wave all over my windshield. I couldn't see s*** for like 10 seconds while on the highway cause there was just so much water over my windshield.
I was scare at that moment, drifting and not seeing anything but I didn't let it show cause I know my wife would feel even more freak out if she see me freak out.

I was hoping I could wait to get new tires until those stock tires wear out first.
Well, the first thing tomorrow morning for me is a trip to Discount Tires to get some Yokohama tires and try to trade the stock tires in.

The 3 close calls scared the hell out of my wife, but thanks to the P5 outstanding handling, I was still able to meet you folks this morning and now still able to type out these rants.

Goodnight guys! I will upload my pics later this week.

Thanks for coming up guys... you made it all worthwhile!

BTW I was the white P5 with JDM tails and Superleggeras.

Tim, you're kidding right??? lol

I too had an interesting experience driving up. When I started leading the group up, it was still rainy and wet. But me with my OE Bridgestones with very little tread....yeah, I started sliding around, hydroplaning. Took it slow, which is why most of the group ended up in front of me...lol.

Just an idea for the next Mazda Madness (or a WA meet, if it can be arranged...) :

When I was driving around Richmond for lunch and shopping, I drove by the Landsdowne shopping center. I heard squealing tires, so I looked over, and I see this cone course laid out, with a Corvette racing around it. It was like an autocross thing. I stopped in and asked if I could join, and the guy said that I had to be there early in the morning to sign up. He couldn't squeeze em in either, which is understandable. lol. But it looked like fun. He did ask me about what car I wanted to drive in the course, and I pointed it to him. He told me that I had a good car, and he wished he could have seen it in action. Apparently he knows about Mazdaspeeds. :D

But anyways. We should have a cone course at the next major meet. I think that would be super. :-P

That was so much fun! I have so many ideas running around in my head I just don't know what to do with myself until next pay-day *this being Wed.* Though I think that a WA meet would be awesome and maybe less of a horrible drive home. I'm down for any weekend that you guys are.

So another driving-home horror story. On the way back over the pass from Seattle to Yakima it was raining so hard that I, too was going only 45 miles per hour...not that bad but around 40 minutes to the nearest town I started falling asleep and had to turn on the ac, slap myself around *literally* and call a friend to make it in. I actually went to sleep at a gas station in Ellensburg and had my friends come pick me up *a 40 min drive* because I didn't want to run my car off the road.
Sucked! It was so freaky to know I could have wrecked my car.

I feel the same about freaky to know I could have wrecked my car part too, except that it happened to me 3 times this past weekend and that is enough! I am getting new tires and getting rid of these stock tires.

Damn i wish i could have gone to it. DAMN YOU MICROSOFT FOR MAKING ME WORK ON A SUNDAY!!! A SSSUUUUNNNNNDDDDDAAAAAAYYYY!!!!! I'll be in canada pretty often this year anyway. I got school in a few more days... Horray for bellingham... 20 min near the border...

ahh, finally back at home myself. SO I think that turned out pretty nicely guys, Hell even me locking my keys in my car turned out alright. (who'da thought an optima redtop would crank a car over so easily after 45min of 1.5kw of stereo.)

So today, I was in seattle, and swung by adire audio and realized that the gains on my borrowed amp were all the way down. gave 'em a nudge or two and my sub kicked back in... Such a shame I KNEW I could'a atleast kept close to that black 5's 6 alpines. Ahwell I'll be sounding much nicer pretty soon here. SUCH an inspiration feeding off the guys at adire. I think we're all gonna go fiberglass away now.
