MAzda fighting me on bushings

read all the clunk thread, this has been repeated a 1000 times. The new E's have yet to fail on someone that got a new bar at the same time. 4 people have had the e's fail with old bars.

Is it because the bar get twisted when the clunk appear... So when you put new bushing they wear out more prematurely !!!?

E-Series Bushings

Where can i purchase e-series bushings? At a local mazda dealership? And approximately how much would it costs? Keep in mind that my warranty has expired! Please respond, i want to fix the clunking noise ASAP.

At the dealership, they are about $13 apiece and take 5 minutes each to change. Its annoying, but a pretty minor thing to deal with.

I've had the E bushings fail on me now 2x. Mazda isn't giving me a new bar and I'm not buying one.

tell them to take their bushings and shove them up their smelly goat ass...

then go to the store and buy some urethane bushings like several others have done. get the ones with the grease zerk in it to keep them quiet

Do you need to remove the endlinks to replace them? That thing can be a b**** with the allen key/socket combo + rust.

Also, I'm pretty sure TSB's aren't required after warranty. If anyone can find factual information on this, it would be nice. I emailed Mazda USA about this and they said it isn't required, but your dealer might do it if you've built a relationship with them. Luckily (sarcasm) I moved, and have a new dealer.

As for getting a replacement bar as well, I fought just before my warranty expired to get this. And watched them put on 156Es, new endlinks, and a new swaybar. This was in June. It started clunking in Novemeber, again, and now sounds as bad as it ever did.

You do not have to remove the endlinks to change the bushings. Its just 2 bolts and they're easy to reach. Once those are out, you remove the bracket and bushing. The bushing itself is slit so it just pops on and off. You'll need some silicone paste stuff to grease them with. Installation is the reverse. Its easier than changing your oil.

TSB's are not required to be peformed free once warranty is up, although they often are.
