Is there an HTML you recommend?

DreamWeaver is a pretty good HTML editor but it would take a little time to learn. I'm mostly of the opinion that if you're serious about web development you should know your HTML and often a text editor is the best tool.

In your case you're really just trying to get some info out there to start helping out Mazda owners and sell stuff to them so you may be OK with FrontPage as long as you have a Mac and PC to test and you test both Netscape and IE at the very least. Then just worry about it when it doesn't work for one of them.

A couple links for cheap domains and hosting:

Domain registration for $10 a year. and transfers for $7

Really cheap hosting, its not the most reliable but it is up 90% of the time. The speed is pretty fast for what you will be loading.

I think your design is pretty decent, it gets the job done. You dont need any massive graphics for just selling parts. It could look more professional but its not a bad start at all. I would have done it in "manual" HTML.. I use CuteHTML, its just like notepad but has a spellchecker and other random things.

Keep up the good work, try and get rid of that nasty register.com bar. Id also suggest picking up a book on HTML or reading some online tutorials. Its way more fun to make a webpage in HTML than to use a "WYSIWYG" editor (frontpage or dreamweaver). and html isnt a hard language, the hard part is manipulating html to make a good design.

Here's a better idea..

Give me the files and I will host the site... in exchange for your first new born...

Just kidding. We will host at no charge.. email for details.

And for the record, random unrelated banners suck. Try to keep the banners "on topic" ?

Ain't Enry generous? anyway...

I'm with Gyre and Elemental on the html thing. BBEdit or TexEdit (for the Mac) or TextPad on Windows are great text editors. Using a text editor is one sure way to keep the pages clean and fast loading.

Anyway I haven't had a chance to look at your page from a Mac yet, sorry about that.

As I noted in my earlier post, please try to keep it so that it's all viewable within 1024x768 (or even 800x600) and if you hafta use popups make sure it doesn't go offscreen. I use monitor spanning on my PowerBook 1400 at home and I hate it when a popup opens but I can't close the damn thing because the close button is off of my screens...

Well i dont use popups... as well as I have loaded my page from many differnt systems... it is perfectly viewable from 800X600 and over.... 640 it isnt too nice. SO i am stumped on why people are telling me to make sure it is viewable in that resolution... am i missing something??? As for the HTML... I am just going to keep it the way it is for now...

By the way, if the site ahsnt been working for some people... most likely because i have been palying around with it.. ie, uploading and removing/renaming pages.... i am assuming this is when you tried to go on. Unless there is a srious problem i cant see and the other machines i am using are just always getting access by fluke.

Zio,
Finally! I've been able to visit your site from my Mac at home. I use MacOS 8.6 Japanese, Netscape 6.2 English for the Mac and the page fit nicely on my laptop screen (800x600).

2 things:
- The "Enter" page is too wide - can you scrunch it down a bit?
- The "Contact us" and "Home" buttons don't show up in my browser, and Netscape can't find the plugins. What plugins are they?

Otherwise bravo! nice and simple. I'll let you know if I have more suggestions!!
