Mazda engines

G'day fellas,

I got a couple of questions about mazda engines. My Dad owns a 1993 Ford Econovan (Its a rebadged Mazda E2000 i believe) maxi LWB 2.0 OHC. He is using this for touring while towing a 17 foot boat.. basically the 2.0 carby engine isnt up to the task. We are looking at either increasing the power output of the current engine or replacing it with a larger more powerful variant. So far we have looked at the 626/Telstar 2.2 and 2.2T, but we arnt to keen on the turbo and the 2.2 isnt a real big increase. the other option is the 2.6 version out of the B2600. Is this the same engine block?

I would also like to know of any other engines that would be a suitable replacement (ie same block), i believe the MX6 has a 2.5 engine?

cheers fellas

Ford econovans usually have V6, V8 and the 350 econovan came with the V10..... Do you mean Aerostar or Windstar. I would get the v6. I think its the same as the ranger and exploer. The mustang 94 to 04 v6 would work but the mounts are different. But you could always re drill the holes.....
