i want all the emblems on my car to be black, does anyone have any tips for painting them or where i can get black ones. if so, do they come off easy??

take them off by heating it up with a hair dryer and using either thick floss or a fishing line to saw off the glue between the emblem and the body of the car. just sand em down a bit and use spray paint from home depot

I would reccomend spraying a coat or two of primer, then a tough paint, and then maybe a clearcoat. You're paining plastic, and you don't want any nasty-looking chips.

The best stuff to get when painting plastic is caled Plastic Prep. It removes all grease oil and contaminants from the surface, let it dry then paint, no need for primer. You can get it at an Auto paint Supply store. I used this for my emblems and also my interior peices. been 2 months no probs.

mine I did a real quick job on.....sanded and painted a few coats of black........3 months later its all chipped and I have to do it again........

now I know....dont take the shortcut on this mod

there are two different types of paint I would try.....you can get them both at walmart of all places.....of course prep the piece well. They have a new paint out called FUSION...which is specifically formulated for painting plastic. the other type I would use is an epoxy paint which is advertised for appliances...once it completely dries its very hard. I have personally used it and I like it....I hang and paint my parts with it and allow it to hand and dry for a whole week....even though the can says its cured in 24 hours...it gets harder with time.

While on vacation for the past couple weeks I was thinking about doing this. I have the "Sport 20 Familia" rear badge and it's black, so why not make the"M" and the "MAZDA" black too. I think it'll look nice, I should be doing it tomorrow or today if I have nothing else to do.

what I did was sand them with a 100 grit and then primer and then wet sand for the small imperfection..
