Mazda Dicks MSP owner revisited

listen up. when MAZDA quotes the faq, you'd do well to give it a re-read

(not pointed at ANYONE)
I read it they just wanted to prove the part # listed was indeed made for the MSP. I verified calling another dealer. All is good for now.....

Yea I will get the info tomorrow. I need to get a missing nut holding the solenoid on the intake pipe from the throttle body.

Yea so ******* dealer mechanic left my tranny mount bracket off ever since they did my LSD. ******* shithead! Today I took my battery and air box out to clean the engine bay and find the bracket missing. I'll post pics later. Back to show the service mgr what a fucktard their mechanic is.

Also, I found out where the missing nut was. Idiot put it on the battery tie down and now the thread is stripped! Also, on the bottom of the bell housing is a bolt that has some leakin fluid coming from it. Oh yea I was also missing a brake caliper guide pin cover, but they replaced that and the nut that was missing on the pipe on from the I/C to the throttle body holding a vacuum solenoid. They also broke my breather filter again which they are paying for. Still awaiting response to replacing or fixing my scratched rims.

I got that email about that revised or superceded LSD.
In the copy of the email it just says this

"Both carriers are Tochigi Fuji Sangyo KK Super Limited Slip Differentials."

E-mail was from a guy named Chuck Coates at Mazda.
Anyone who works for a dealer know who that is?

If I hadn't have held the "updated" lsd in my hand I would've thought the guys in that service department were a bunch of jerks. All truth being told when I broke my lsd a couple of weeks ago and they sent me the new "updated" part I thought it was a joke. I called the Mazda Parts rep. told them what a bunch of b.s. it was for sending me an open diff. He swore it was an lsd. When I asked how it worked he replied "F'n M". Still not satisfied I called Mazda Tech. Line, they said the exact same thing with a "trust me I get called 2 x's a week for the same thing", so I asked them how it worked, they said " F'n M"

It turns out the new lsd is slightly weaker, it no longer uses spring force for the lsd function. Now it uses centrifugal force. Basically it works great straight line but sucks for corners. But the lack of spring force makes the unit as a whole stronger.

That being said, they never tried to give you a open diff., they simply didn't know it wasn't an open diff.

So you did you get the same piece of s*** posi-trac type diff. that has no spring clutch plate? Yea I noticed IT IS A PIECE OF s*** on turns. Anything I can do to make em give me the old diff again?
I'm having problems shifting now since the damn bracket support bolt was off the mount. Look at the pic below.
Also theres a bolt thats under my housing that has some fluid coming from it? It dont look like a OEM bolt thats supposed to be there. Can anyone verify this? I am gonna look at another car and see. The moron tech already has lost a bunch of nuts and bolts and s*** I wouldnt be surprised if this isn't the right one.
ONCE AGAIN
Mazda Customer Service is gonna get a call from me next week.

So there are more failures that exist besides the ones documented on this forum.
It's kinda late so what do you mean by "F'n M"?

This is the type of shyt that is starting to worry the fugg out of me. As much as I'm starting to love my car, ( 19K miles since purchase in Dec.) I may start looking for another 4 door sport compact. So far I haven't had not one major problem with the car. The hest. is there, but only when the IC is heat soaked, then there is my trunk water leak. Other than those two things, my speed has been pretty good to me. With only a catless DP and AEM CAI installed the car feels good to me, a little more power would be great, but I put off buying any new parts until I return from Iraq. Yeah, I just got told that I would be leaving in the next 2 to 3 months to go BACK to Iraq for 12 or so months. Sucks Azz, big time. So in the mean while, Mazda USA needs to get there head screwed on straight or else, they may start losing customers..

sorry to jack your thread, I just wanted to vent some frustration

Hahhahahhahah!! I think you're right. As good as Mazda's designers are, their bean counters and supporting staff are horrible.

Yeah "F'n M" is fu*kin majic.

The one bolt missing is kinda important as it is for the side tranny mount.

The other bolt is a factory bolt. It should be tight enough not to leak. However it is a VERY IMPORTANT bolt, that holds the shift fork support. I would not suggest touching it unless you just make sure its tight....not too tight though. Your transmission will start to/if not will self destruct without that bolt.

You cannot get the old diff anymore, believe me I tried. Also another interesting fact is you cannot buy a MSP transmission. If you destroyed the case of your transmission the tech would have to get a regular protege transmission, then piece together all the components that were beefed up for the MSP.

So CAN this missing mount bolt and this leaking bolt attribute to my shift grinding into 5th and 4th even with the clutch depressed and it wanting to pop out of gear due to my tranny bouncing around between shifts over time?

B/c its been a month since i got it back and I noticed it started to shift roughly right after where the tranny seems to be bouncing around the engine bay between shifts. I thought it was a broken engine mount at first but all were still good. Then i look at the side mount and find empty bolt holes. So im like WTF!!!

I think these LSD's are like the midpipes. Mine broke and so did three others on the forum but I would imagine the vast majority of LSDs and midepipes will be fine as long as they are not beat the **** out of, not that I saying anyone broke their own diff.
I think the soft mounts bring out the weakness in a defective LSD or midpipe through all the engine motion either up and down during wheel hop or back and forth during on throttle off throttle.
Anyway I think most MSPer's diffs will be allright especially if they change their mounts. And of course some poor batards are just slated to have bad parts :)

Mazdaspeed transmissions have beefed up shift forks, differentials, and different type of synchros for fifth gear (may have different synchros for other gears but its a whole new design and very noticable on the fifth.)

JDM Sam- if that bolt is loose (the one leaking fluid) it will defiently screw up the shifting and operation of the transmission. I kinda doubt that the bolt completly missing would do anything considering there is three other bolts on the same mount.....however it was put there for a reason.

Ok so it is the reason why my 5th pops out of gear now and shifts like s***. So basically I should b**** and demand they rebuild my gear box now since its been doing this for a month now since I got my car back?

JDM SAM- Has it just started to shift funny, or has it been shifting funny since you got it back? If it has been shifting since you got it back I bet they didn't align the shift forks properly before they put the case together (I had to take mine back apart because I did it too). If not I would imagine it could be that bolt being loose. But I couldn't tell you for sure without driving it.
