Hello,

My wife and I plan to purchase a new Mazda5 and wondering if some of you out there can share with us your recent purchase experiences at Mazda dealers in Calgary. Perhaps, a recommendation.

I have looked at another thread here but would love to hear some more recent purchase experiences.

This will be our first Mazda experience as we have previously owned Honda, Toyota and Subaru.

Thank you.

Steven

I'm a big fan of Kramer Mazda in the Southeast. They have a great service dept. and the salespeople are very helpful and friendly.

I'll never buy another Mazda because of the customer service I have received, the absolute best service in Calgary is Country Hills Toyota.

I have never been to Kramer, but it is owned by the same guy that owns North Hill so I wouldn't recommend them. Sunridge recently changed ownership, hopefully they have improved because I certainly don't think they could've gotten worse.

Just my .02

I bought my P5 at NorthHill Mazda and they were good to me everytime.

I wish mazda had the 5 out when I bought my P5. I would have switched...(pissed)

I bought from Sunridge but their service sucks. I now go to kramer for service and only deal with kevin. He's one of the better people working the service desks.

Kramer for sure!...Although the customer service is not the best I have seen they are decent. When my wastegate actuator took a poop they replaced the turbo, machined the manifold, new egr etc etc. They also fixed my bushings on the front and rear sway bar while in the shop without even asking. I dont know of other experiences but mine has been better than average so far. When I owned my RSX-S ALL Acura dealerships in Calgary are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! They refused to change my oil cuz my car was lowered and they didnt want the liability of scratching the bottom of my car and it was not even that low. I guess all places have their good and bad moments.

Kramer is terrible, they dont give a s*** about you after you drive off the lot. i had quite the argument with the manager and he was very rude even to begin with. Dont go to kramer, seriously

I had really good experiences with North Hill, both for sales (Ken Nahn sold me my car) and service (talk to Shawn - she's very easy to deal with). I have always been satisified with the service work they did. Past tense now because I am in Atlanta these days...

I work at Kramer come see me! I'll make sure you get taken care of. And Ken Nhan is now the new car sales manager at Kramer.

Where is the best place to have some potential Warranty work done?
I have a '02 Protege5, that has developed some rust along the bottom of the rear driver door, and also around the "Protege5" badge on the rear hatch. I'm hoping this is covered, as it seems weird to have rust develop on one door, but also my car only has 90k on it.
Any Suggestions? Is it even covered? Am I S.O.L.

Thanks,
Mack

you are SOL, I have contacted mazda canada regarding this one and they yet again have proved useless.

Unfortunately for all of us, most rust warranties are for perforation only, surface rust is not covered. This is typically stated clearly, and is by no means unique to Mazda.

I was disappointed because it was only about 15 months after purchasing my car.

Unfortunatly yes mazda won't cover this for some unknown reason. We get Protege 5's in all the time like this and Mazda canada tells us to take a hike as well.

well there sure is a bunch of misinformation in this thread.

Mazda is still covering surface rust on the hatch. In fact, I saw a Protege5 at Autobahn Autoworks yesterday getting hatch rust repair work done (at Mazda's expense.) Take your car to Sunridge, they will help you out.

sunridge is good.

Sunridge has the by far the largest stock in Calgary. And the new ownership seems to be working really well. I had my car in for service there last week. Everything was good.
