Ok guys the mazda dealer called up with a follow up and wants me to go back by there to see if we can work a deal on a MSP. but im still lacking a couple hundred bucks. im looking to sell.

Oh man, you can make them eat that $700 easy. You just need to keep walking out on them, it's a 2003 car. They need to get rid of it!!

First mistake! No wonder the dealer called you back. Now that he knows how much you're willing to pay a month, he'll try and **** you.

Note for next time: Never mention monthly payments or deal on those words. You're basically bending over and "putting the ball in their court" so to speak.

I paid $15995 for mine (2003 model). $16495 would've been the price for 2003.5 model.

Although my dealer is no longer giving that deal.

You shouldn't struggle too hard.

i payed 16000 for my 2003.5 u can deal... just walk in there knwing that you will drive that car off the lot and tell them that... they can eat the 700.. they dont care.

Yeah first rule is never let the dealer know that your desperate or they wil **** you. I would tell them to go **** off and that there is a cheaper deal across town. Mazda dealers are so competative in my town that they will fight over you. They actually called me and said "what can I do to end your business."

Hey man, i see you are from Louisville. What dealer? I bought mine from Huffman on Dixie.
I paid 17300, with S plan and 1500 rebate.
16775 is pretty good. With your trade, and a down payment, i hope you get it.

And id say the MSP is worth it. The P5 is a great car, but the MSP is better.

i was looking at both the p5 and the mazda6. checked insurance rates and the mazda 6 would have put my car payment + insurance at $600... I decided to go with a p5 since that is a little too steep on my meager bartending/student budget. After, the dealer did the same thing... they called me back to see if I wanted the 6. The problem I had was that it seems to be desperation on their part to get rid of the car (since I had narrowed my choices to a mazda6 v6, sport package). I don't know, that just seems shady because they see that you are willing to buy a car, and decide to upgrade you to a more expensive car. That's called "upselling" and unless youre careful, you usually get taken to the cleaners. But, talk them down as much as possible, and if the speed is within your budget, then ******* go for it.

im going there in the moring and im gonna give them hell. make them give me the 8700 book for my mazda and that 675 off there msp tell them its a 03. we will see what happens. thanks guys

I almost bought a black MSP from Bluegrass, but they wouldnt give me S plan and the rebate back in July. Now you get S plan and a bigger rebate.. nice.
What color are you looking at getting?
