Mazda CX-9 starting issue…Help

I have a 2011 Mazda CX-9. It’s having a hard time starting. It will turn over but won’t start. It will start right up in the morning after setting over night but if you stop somewhere, it takes a while to start back up. It will turn over but not start. It had a P0171 and a P0174. Which are lean codes. I checked the vac hoses, mass air flow sensor and cleaned the throttle body. The car has almost 300k on it and has been great up until recently. Today it started bogging way down when trying to accelerate. It normally drive fine once it starts, no bogging or stalling. I’m stuck. We’re looking at getting something new. Just trying to make it past the holidays.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I can try to give more info if needed.

May be unrelated, because it is not consistent with the bogging down while driving and is a different engine, but I had a 2010 mazda 3 that would do the same at start. It would crank and start the first time, but if i missed it the first time then after that it would just turnover and not start. I would have to wait 5 minutes before trying again.

I found the hard way that it was the starter that was dying. It died on me at work on the fourth level down in an underground parking downtown. I had to get it towed out of the underground parking lot, which was an adventure in itself.

It turns out the starter would crank before but not fast/strong enough to consistently start. I don’t know how you can check that to confirm if the starter is ln it’s way or not without replacing it. So I wouldn’t necessarily say to change the starter without additional diagnosis because it may be unrelated to your situation, but it might be something to look into.
