Mazda 6s = 23,000, Mazda Speed 3 = 22,000...wth?

my guess is the resale value on the speed 6 is nowhere close to the speed three. (Relatively speaking)

Probably not. The deals on the Speed 6 means it's failing in the marketplace, hence a higher fall off in depreciation. Time will tell, but the Speed 3 by far is a more popular car, the the Speed 3 is way more of an enthusiast car then the Speed 6. A lot of Speed 6 owners didn't buy it even thinking of it as an enthusiast car. They figured, they could get a 6 speed manual, powerful AWD upgraded version of a regular 6, and essentially, that's exactly what they got. There's a much larger difference in HP between the top of line regular Mazda 3 then there is the top of the line regular mazda 6 compared to the Speed models as well.

The values will end up closer to even, even though the Speed 6 cost more money to make. Mazda is making money off the Speed 3, but probably breaking even or even possibly losing some money on the Speed 6. :)

I noticed that too, and that's why I'm seriously considering the MS6 in the fall. Anyone know if they're gonna make the MS6 in 2008?

well said. :)

I had an 05 3 Hatch and wanted a Speed 3, but the hatch wheelhopped so damn bad and had this horrendous clunking from the sway bars... Just couldn't be sure they'd fully cure that stuff in the MSP3. Time to buy, I couldn't locate a MSP3 to drive, I went with the speed 6 for its AWD and more solid build. After wringing them out at zoom-zoom live I really liked the MSP6. After a winter in Mn with it wearing a set of M&S tires, I'm lovin this car. The MSP6 still hauls ass and passengers love it. Still, the MSP3 seems just a badass little car. It's cool they got em both. Both cars are a bargain, IMO.

That's great. Though why is the speed 3 cheap horse power compared to the V6 that's bottom of its class with 212? Does anybody else think they should of gave the v6 a little more zoom zoom?

Just wait for the next Mazda6 model. IT will finally have a motor with some guts!

if it looks anything like that one on the spy shot, Im gonna s*** the same brick subaru fans s*** every year after every model release. That 6 just looks like one of those big lexus'...its going to deep into luxury sedan and out of sports sedan territory.
