Mazda 6 Vs. Protege 5

well i was coming back from my g/f's house and saw a yellow car and was wondering what it was. thought it was a lexus or toyota at first until i got a little close. then i saw the mazda6 symbol and was like dam that b**** is nice. started crusing next to him and next light i just took off, pulling up to another red light it turns green and the 6 takes off im like **** cause i was going to shift into first when the light changed.. so i catch up and get next to him and notice he starts to accel so i floored it. since i was on my side of town by now i usually know where the cops are so i was slowed down at about 90.... i thought he was gonna take me but i guess the protege stays up top....

Story is a little hard to read...but do you know if you were racing the 4cyl or the 6cyl?

I agree, and I guess mazda thought of that too, that's why they have that replacement grill you can buy as an accessory that looks awesome. It is a great car and I like it more and more every time i see it on commercials. Wish I could afford the 6cyl 6speed. maybe when they come out with a turbo AWD 6 I'll be able to afford a new one. Probably not.

I love the car, and if had known it was coming would have waited instead of buying the P5.

The Mazda6 is sweet period. If anyone's getting it though, they have to get the sport package because it doesn't look that great without the body kit and spoiler. Also, if you do get the sport package, you also have to get the V6. Why? Because with the I4, the sport package is not standard. To add it, you also have to add the comfort package and some other stuff. While with the V6, everything's already included.

So, all in all, the V6 model with the sport package already included ends up to be about $1,500 more than the I4 with everything added to it. 60 more horsepower for $1,500?! I'll take it!!!

Oh, and by the way, it's "Mazda6" and "Protege5" not "Mazda 6" and "Protege 5." The number is connected to the name. Another one of my pet-peeves.

if it was easy as coming down to HP, life would be grand. But there are a lot more factors than that. Though I don't doubt the 4cyl is fast

True. Most of the time, it's the driver. Maybe he really doesn't wanna raise, but he's just hinting to you that he could. (Rev, rev.) Then there are folks that want to race, think they're fast because they drive stick, but they don't drive stick that well and get their ass wooped. My friend for example. She drives a Prelude, much faster than the P5, but was totally left in the dust. It wasn't the car, it was her.
