Hi,
I have a family member who has a mazda 6 sport gt 2006 station wagon .
He wants to know is there a remote control starter kit Mazda sells here in Canada to go on his car , he has been told yes then given the run around by garage. Anyone?

If so he would like the part # and to have the proof on paper to show garage.

Also has anyone had any problems with there heated seats , he showed the garage the bulges in the seats and a few wires could be seen easily has anyone had any problems and are the seats suppose to be bulgy because they are heated?

Any help pls
Thks

I haven't seen a remote starter installed on a car with the RFID tag in the key (which I think the Mazda6 has since the 3 does. *bump* for someone who might have some more info for you.

If it isn't a factory option, the security would have to be overridden or the key would have to remain in the ignition bolt.

They make a kit as long as it isn't a manual transmission. Mazda does not have a remote starter for a manual transmission equipped vehicle.

Do you know how they do it without just having the RFID always at the ignition?

Yes. It is a mazda kit. They designed it with a additional immobilizer box. You have to reprogram all the keys to the new system.

It is Radio Frequency Identification Device if I recall correctly. It is a little computer chip inside your key that the car checks before allowing the car to start.

As for part number, I'm not sure. Have you called the dealership? I'm sure someone on here can look up part numbers, but it may be different for the Canadian model I'm not certain.

I am in Canada and I keep getting the runaround from different mazda dealers.

So there is such a thing for the Mazda 6 gt sport 2005-06 models though?

They the garage that says "yes there is a kit like this" says it is for some reason to hard to install the remote starter kit on the 6's . maybe that's why some dealers are steering away from it and saying no there is no such thing.

Anyone?

Part number for the 06' Mazda6 Station wagon , automatic, is 0000-8f-h08.

Now this is U.S. Spec. I have no idea whether or not the Canadian Models are different. You could bring this part number to your dealership and see what they think.

IIRC remote start is the replacement of the actual factory security. If aftermarket one was used then yes a pats or mazda equivalent will be needed unless you don't mind losing a key. if you do lose a key make shure you have new ones cut cause you need 2 working keys to program any more keys
