Mazda 5 Turbo

Yeah, we bought our 5 for family...but the mod bug hit me....now that the wife is off on vacation, I modded up the 5...when the wife returns...I'm dead....(gun) If she could drive a 5speed it would have been turboed by now...sigh(boobs2)

I love the look of the Cosworth's Supercharge... too bad it is only for Miata... (shrug)

Unlike you guys, I bought the car cuz it is different. I was a member of Toronto Mazda 6 Club for almost 3 years and figured if I get Mazda 5 and make it look good, it will definitely stand out. I was right :)

OucH!

(yupnope)

I have kids... three of them. When I go out to the garage to work on my 1965 Triumph, guess who follows? (attn)

I enjoy having them there. I'm in no hurry, so I teach them.

Tranny. Fear a turbo with this tranny plus the added weight of this car (it isnt a mazda3). If someone has the kind of time to put a turbo on a 5 you probably dont have kids, and in that case should just trade it in and buy a ms3, OR, feel free to rip the drive train out of the 5 and drop a v8 and make it rwd....hubba hubba.

Who's "you guys"?

I bought mine 'cause it's different.

I tend to do that.

It's kinda funny following this thread and seeing how universal the appeal for the 5 really is. Honestly, I'm not much into modding of my cars, but appreciate the aftermarket stuff that is there if I ever wanted to go that route.

Frankly, most of the suspension and wheel/tire stuff would conflict with the winter months here, as lowering is the norm. Heck another winter with snow on the ground measured in feet (rather than inches) would really put a damper on a low-rider. But heck, if you live in Florida or anywhere else sunny with decent roads, why not lower?

Btw, I guess I do have the rear bumper step and mud guards, so I'm partially modded!

One more thing too: What other reasonable economical family cars are there out there the drive and look nice enough to shed that soccer mom/dad moniker?

Lol... of course not... a good turbo charger will cost more than the kit... However, they do sell the manifold for $299... it might not be a bad place to start a homemade Mazdespeed 5...

So, still no boosted Mazda 5's yet?

Got a buddy wanting to get a 5 and asked me to do some homework for him
