Mazda 5 occasional middle seat removal?

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has figured how to remove this very silly and annoying occasional seat in the middle row (back rest only as the bottom seat tucks away), it just gets in the way and my kids find it dificult to acesse the rear seats, cheers!

The whole process takes 30-45 min, by yourself, with a socket wrench and a screw driver!
