mazda 323 wagon BF - 343whp

Good lord thats a beast! Yet another thread that makes me wish I would have never traided in my 323 wagon in for a P5. You and xelderx are killin me!

heres a sneak peak at the new box in the bay

its been a very large mission with milling work on the bellhousing to fit the fly and custom clutches , the adapter plates took me ages , the shafts are evil and so on...

also to note the old b6t box i was running had a 4 spider competition mazdaspeed LSD clutchpack in it with a custom straight cut 3rd gear.. first i blew the straight cut 3rd ..the lsd was fine that would never break, however the bearings in the g series are just too small and it blew the case in 1/2 literally..

heres the blown 3rd , it was a locally made gear , next to it is the PAR 3rd gear which i think is alot beefier but its alot more 800AU$,.. i dont think i would have blown that 3rd however when the bearing let go it would have destroyed it anyway . the main bearing that ive found to go is the one on the end of 2nd shaft next to the crown wheel there..theres a pic at the bottom of the damage its very nasty..hehe

it also blew both the end bearigns straight thru the case, have a laugh..sorry about al lthe pix but it is amusing

Wow good work on the ZOOM ZOOM BOOOOOM! I have never seen a tranny and gears so totalled before. lol Great setup though. I can't believe you got that much HP out of that wagon when I think back to how gutless mine was.

So do you know when you will get it up and running again??

Are you going to use the mazdaspeed lsd in the new tranny?
 
I assume you mean the Mazdaspeed Protege LSD? That s*** would snap in an instant.


Also: Hooray for the same engine in my Miata. FS-DE is for suckers.
 
no the new gearbox is toyota so no mazda parts are being used...
here is the TRD 4 spider clutchpack lsd im using now next to the mazda stock open diff G series. for some reason i dont think its going to break..
