I am looking for a chip that allows my Mazda 3 to go past 120mph. My Mazda's 3 governor kicks in around that speed.

Alternatively, I am open for any other modifications to get past 120mph.(boom06)

cant link to other forums but go to yahoo and type in "mazda3 speed limiter"

Good luck by yourself on the internet....you will be fine.

The "internets" found this forum and your rhetorical reply. Too bad an eloquent answer is none to be found, albeit a sarcastic one.

Then you managed to type it wrong...at any rate....

Basically you have to remove your pcm and ship it to him and he reprograms it for you and ships it back.

There are a couple websites that dont give specifics or guarantees that may work as well but none are verified like this one is.

not a problem...just wish there was an easier way than killing your car for a week

BUT I googled more and you should search for
Haltech or the Microtech ecu chips that are programmable and email them and ask....would be a better option if they say itll work.

For the love of all that is holy, DO NOT support DPTune! His flashes never work, and his customer service is TERRIBLE. I've had my ecu back and forth 3 times (all at my expense), as well as giving him an additional $70 for doing some "logging" which would "make it perfect". I ended up putting down LESS POWER THAN BEFORE! Take it from someone who lost several hundred dollars, NEVER go to DPTune, EVER.
I'd like to note that my eperience is typical, as a handful of other Mazda owners have contacted me asking if my experience was as terrible as theirs! Hell, even the Mazda2 Spec-B car which was paid for by Mazda is tuned by him and they've had issues!
i.e. this car:

Guess youre down to Haltech or the Microtech then ;-)

lol...just noticed....I ignore most of what people write.

Hypertech module also has speed limiter bypass, same for revs. I'm set at 255mph and 7200 rpm. Heh

Lol how fast has she gone?...id be super nervous getting a fwd car 140

Every once in awhile I do a top speed pull, last one a few weeks ago at 130. Not often, like the revs though I have topped 7200 a few times(like 7350 or close to that)

thats still booking it. On my 96 mustang 5 speed at 120 she was eerily smooth and quiet like it was heaven for the car...never tried in my 2000 mustang...how smooth is 120\130 in the 3?

key word being "yet" lol ;)

Yeah one of Chris's latest posts said its scheduled, they're still working on the second gen 3's I guess.

Eerily smooth would be a good description for my 3 too, lol...coilover suspension and full underbracing helps that :) A pothole would suck...
