Mazda 3 i Vs S

We all know the i is a lil weaker....but a lot cheaper than the S. I was wondering...who owns a i that is turboed....I wanted to place this in forced inductions, but more people read this, :) . Anywho...because if the #s are...say just 20hp & tq around there difference between i and S...i rathere gettin the i to save a few thousand dollars! :) for turbo n other s***! thanks guys! any info is appreciated!!!

Juan has typically said that the 2.0 "should" take to boost better than the 2.3 due to the shorter stroke. if you are buying the 3 to turbo it right away, then i'd go with the I as well.

I thought I read somewhere that the I auto feels quicker?

Is that in comparison to the 2004-2005 S 4 speed auto or the 2006 5 speed auto?

DAMN..

With gettin it up to 20psi...how do..you get it up that high? I Know most turbos normally push 8psi around there...is it just the managers that tell how much? and tuning the engine. And of course new forged pistons n rings...new cams? 3.5 inch exhaust...but 20psi...i never got to look into gettin a turbo up that high...any info is much appreciated

The S making those crazy numbers has at least forged rods, I know that.

The i making over 300WHP is a completely stock engine with like a 2.5 inch exhaust I think.

hrmmm...thats amazing...17psi...STOCK internals? no way...I would put it with stock with 7-9psi...but after 10 I would upgrade them...just incase...

the I saves 1500 bucks...which is nice...hrmmm I think ill go with the I...maybe a few bucks less to insure....

I wish I could go with the BASE model...but I need AC, powerlocks, power windows, n keyless entry is nice....

i repeat...17psi stock?! no way!....i wanna hear it from juan, haha

god damn...just amazing!!! 16k on the car...2800 for turbo...install n tune urself...free...haha. bout 19k total....a piece of beauty able to take the sti :) 33k of pretuned machine, hehe. 14k SAVED for other s***!...exhaust...hood, seats, n shortshifter!

hey...are the i the same as the S shifters? i LOVED the S shifter stock...so nice

Thanks! Usually I see engines that are stock with less TQ to gain more of a difference once HP goes up... say 150hp 120tq 300hp 240tq...like that...just bigger dif between the two...but this is nice!!! god damn!!

anyone got a site devoted to mazda3s? thanks

Plus seeing how I would be a daily driver...maybe the less HP is better...haha... so 330 is the best we got outta the 2.0L. Which is amazing...around 20psi...how much PSI can the turbo produce? I would love to be pushing 350hp and 350tq whenever I want :)

Quick question with turbo...boost controllers....when you tune em at peak PSI...if you tune if for 18psi or so..and you drive daily on 12psi or so...will it **** up the engine or anything? Once I actually get a turbo on my next car...I plan on making sure I know enough to tune it and all.

just in mind, there are a lot less parts for the 2.0l engine available, hopefully this will change in the future
