mazda 3 engine conversion

hello! i have a 07 mazda 3 hatchback 2.3. i am not very familiar with the engines in mazdas. so i would like to drop my engine and put in a mazda speed engine in my mazda, i was wondering if it is even possible or if it would be easier to just have my 2.3 built for a turbo. so any replies would most helpful.

Cheaper/easier to just turbocharge what you have in there already.

Even cheaper and easier is to just sell it and buy a Mazdaspeed 3. You need to replace the transmission as well... IMO only reason to turbo a regular Mazda3 is if you want a turbo'd sedan... or if you already have a LOT of money sunk into your vehicle in stuff you can't/don't want to remove and reinstall on a new one.

Well I considered just buying a mazdaspeed but I'm 20 and insurance is kind of a problem for me haha :/ but I think I'm selling my m3 and I'm going to look for a supercharged rx8, they have really caught my eye. But thank you for the reply, much appreciated!
