Mazda 3 Engine Change

Ok...I am not an average back yard mechanic...have done alot of engine changes in my day but this is my first on a Mazda...what we have here is a 2004 Mazda 3...it lost oil pressure due to what appears to be a severe leak in the oil filter area...the gentleman who owns the car said he started slowing down when the low oil indicator went off...but by the time he got slowed down (on interstate running 70) the engine quit...I towed it to my house and the engine is seized..he purchased a 50K replacement of the same year and I am tasked with changing it...now the questions...the engine is bolted to an auto trans...will the engine come out the top?...has anyone else done a change like this and have any suggestions?

comes out the top with the tranny and all bolt ons but the header. Should take about 4 hours

That sure sounds easy enough...LOL...any chance of not pulling the tranny too

dude, way easier to remove with the trany and all the bolt ons
