Mazda 2 2009 stall

Hello
My girlfriend has a 2009 dynamic Mazda 2 - Automatic gear.
lately (like 1 month), when she starts the car after 7-8 hours of rest (during night, during work time) the engine will usually stop working when she stops for light or in a slow drive in a roundabout only at the beginning of the drive.
It usually might happen again after few minutes but then it wont happen again until next long rest of the car...
We took the car to the garage, they tried to clean the throttle, it didn't solve it.
then they tried to update the computer with new version - this also didn't help.
Now they told me that they want to replace the EGR - which might solve it but they are not sure.

Did anyone had this problem?

Honda Fits exhibit this same behavior when the valve lash gets out of spec. I'd have the lash checked.

The 2009 has a cable driven throttle, therefore it also has an Idle Air Control valve(IAC). This is a common failure on many cars. Either that or look for a vacuum leak when the engine is cold.
