first time ive seen this, looks like we will eventually be able to tune the flashes ourselves through tuner shops (COBB AP)

good news, but I would like to see end user tuning as well. Hopefully cobb can bring us that.

That would be the race tuner. It's also in the works. The pro tuner is designed for shops and will do multiple cars, the race is for individual use. Eventually Cobb will cover all the bases.
 
I used something like this with my RSX from HONDATA. They modified the stock ECU to accept a USB cord that plugged right into the back of my laptop and I could realtime datalog while I drove. Then I could literally pull over, shut the motor down, adjust fuel/ignition/cam timing/VTEC point/you name it, reflash it in about 30 seconds and then be off testing again. Pretty cool, but it was $1500+. You also have to know what you're doing because your motor can easily go BOOM.

im not looking to tune myself, jsut think it would be better to have a custom tune on a dyno by someone that knows what to do instead of downloading maps from the internet
