Maybe moving to CX5 from V6 sedan- seeking comment on acceleration ?

If you want a SPORTS CUV/SUV then you have to bump up your spending cash $$$ by another $10k or so. The CX5 is NOT a sports CUV/SUV but it is the fastest CUV in its category. One would have to LEAVE the CX5 category and bump up to a sports SUV category.

Mazda CX5 AWD - 1/4 mile =15.8 // 0-60mph= 7.6 // 70mph-0mph = 166 feet // 0.81g
Honda CRV AWD - 1/4 mile =16.6 // 0-60mph= 8.2 // 70mph-0mph = 171 feet // 0.76g
Ford Escape AWD - 1/4 mile =16.9 // 0-60mph = 9.1 // 70mph-0mph = 174 feet // 0.81g
Chevy Trax AWD - 1/4 mile =17.5 // 0-60mph = 9.8 // 70mph-0mph = 169 feet // 0.72g
Kia Sportage AWD - 1/4 mile =17.3 // 0-60mph = 9.3 // 70mph-0mph = 179 feet // 0.79g
Subaru Forester AWD - 1/4 mile =16.7 // 0-60mph = 8.6 // 70mph-0mph = 166 feet // 0.78g

I don't know your situation and not meaning to pass any criticism, but I hope I will never reach a day where an easier entry/exit to a vehicle would be a motivating factor for me.
Keep in mind that a sedan will be more spacious and a little more comfortable, especially in the back.

While not the primary factor, I prefer the height of a CUV/SUV too, not only for entry/exit ease, but also for visibility. I can still zip through the woods on a dirtbike, but I have to say my friends Focus ST's Recaros are a pain to exit.

What about a forester or escape turbo? How do they compare?

Many thanks

OP, test drive the 'new' Kia sorento EX V6. You'll be surprised!

I want to thanks all those that have replied to my post.
I really am not expecting the same accleration as my V6 le Camry. But a little responsiveness from the suv would be nice.
For those interested I had my first test drive today. It was a RAV4 and it was a nice vehicle but disappointing in 2 main ways, 1~acceration and 2~ interior space. Although the legroom and headroom were adequate the interior of the RAV4 seemed "narrow" to me.
So next up will be the Honda then saving the best to last with the cx5.
Again I appreciate all your comments

The CX5 will feel a lot more responsive, I believe, but interior space is crap on every COMPACTutilityvehicle. Your next step up is the Ford Explorer Sport, CX9, Grand Jeep Cherokee, or a minivan, lol.

Depending on budget, the Grand Jeep Cherokee is far nicer than any other option in its price-range, and the 5/100 warranty makes it livable until it's out of warranty, at which point I learned that it does not pay to own a Jeep product, lol.

For example, my 2010 Grand Jeep Cherokee had features Mazda still hasn't put in their top of the line CX5's, and I can't think of anything the new CX-5 has that my Jeep didn't except for things like LED lighting.

-Remote start with auto-shutoff
-Displacement on Demand (it worked, doing 50mph, I could get 23mpg out of that HEMI, lol!)
-NAV with traffic update
-120V outlets in the vehicle
-AWD 52/48 split, locking front/rear diffs
-Neutral mode for towing behind an RV

and mine wasn't even top of the line. Jeep just kills it in features, and dies in reliability. Such a terrible love/hate.
