maybe im lucky, or maybe I'm smart

I can't believe all the problems people are having with their MSP's.

I have had mine for a little more then a month now. I have put in 8900km (5500miles) in 6 weeks.

When I picked it up I decided to treat it gently for the first 1000km (as per manual). Ever since then I have driven it hard. 2 auto-x events, spirited driving 90% of the time and a 5900km (3800mile) trip in 12 days.

I have not had any problems with
  • the stereo
  • acceleration
  • rear clunk
  • air intake
  • braking
  • tires
  • and what ever else everyone complains about
I do admit that there is some turbo lag, especially during warmer temps and with a hot engine, but really no other complaints to speak of.

I came to this forum months before I bought my MSP, and calculated that the best thing to do would be to build a grounding kit for it, which I did. I noticed a significant change in the start-up and idle of the car after that.

I figure the car is under warranty, drive it everyday like you would every other day and if it breaks, take it in.

Its a long post, and I am sorry, but my point is this.

If you change things, first understand what you are doing. When you make changes, do them with calculated decissions and with the understanding that you may be creating more problems for yourself.

For all those that FKed with your exhaust, intake, intercooler, turbos, BOV's and what ever.. you deserve the s*** you got, so stop complaining.

Remember, if its not broke, dont fix it......

whatabout those of us who had the problems before they modified anything? or for those who had problems with the car the DAY AFTER they brought it home, do they cound undwer the people who "FKED with their cars, and GOT WHAT WS COMIG TO THEM?" because to be honest my turbo didn't even hit 6.5PSI until i put in my intake. i would get 5.5 or 6 at the most, so w/e, i like my injen, and will continue to modify my MSP including putting in the MBC i ordered and very soon an exhaust. remember there ARE people with incredibly fast MSP's still running hard with lots of miles on them, i guess it's a question of luck, and not necissarily being the "smalt"est person on the boards. why even post somethign like that?

"WOWIE!!! I've had my speed for a month without any problems."

Congratulations. If you had been here for more than a month you would know that several of us have modded the s*** out of this car, driven it for over a year and a half, and still have very few problems. You really expected your new car to have problems in the first 5500 miles? Why did you even buy it then? This thread sucks BTW.

Typical forum noob asshole (1st post)(notcool)

May not have the problems now, but you will eventually. Just you wait and see...then you'll be asking for help. (help)

umm...yeah...

11000+ miles in about 8 or 9 months and not many problems if at all. so you're not really special. 8.5~9 psi, copper plugs that are getting replaced, and a K&N filter

lol. maybe you are slart?

what the **** is the definition of slart? you must be too slart for me since i can't figure it out.

You ae so right. Don't get me wrong, but I like to use the old addage, "you can't polish a turd". In other words, this car was made a certain way, and when you **** with it, quit your whining and take responsibility for doing something you have been told time and time again NOT to do! If you really feel you have to mod the s*** out of this thing, then don't b**** when things go wrong. I've not "modded" my MSP, and it runs just fine.

wait a minute... "modding" the car with engine upgrades has nothing to do with stereo's, brakes, stress cracks or none of that s***. If someone mod's their engine and blows it up, then yea, they shouldn't cry to mazda about it. But if the engine is running good with the mods, and other s*** breaks, like my front and rear that is starting to become unglued and rattling... your damn right I am gonna go to Mazda.

I think your post it kinda silly!

I'm not even going to dignify this post with a reply. oops....(puke)

Wow, a whole 6 weeks without any problems. Impressive.(jerkit)

My car is STOCK and it still has problems, so I guess you're not that "slart."

I like my mods, I will keep modding........... I hope your girlfriend isn't with you when a civic owns you... no one whines here, Some of us like to discuss certain issues with our cars that most of us seem to have in common. So that if in fact it is defective we find out about it before hesitation has us sitting half-way thru an intersection stalled out kissing our asses good bye ! uggh how can you post crap like this

To the fucktards who say dont mod your car, if so your fault...your car is a regular protege modded...you sound as ignorant as the bad dealer I am dealing with.
Magnuson moss act of 1975 any aftermarket part that improves the performance of the original part does not automatically void your warranty unless they can state in writing that it did. Dealership gonna get owned cuz this great law to protect consumers.

looks like i'm slarter then you, cause if you were slart, you would have realized that this was a typo.... how old are you? 12!

All I'm trying to point out is... if it's not broken, don't fix it. And stop bitching when you break it.......

Only one person owns me and that's me.

If you think I bought a car to street race you're an idiot. And if you do street race, you've just proven it.

I didn't purchase my car to "street race" I purchased it to drive. HARD. and to make insane hp by MODDING ! I bet your bitter about the civic owning you.......... slarty pants
