May be a stupid question about TT

Hi guys,

After a few answers about the Apexi TT with the O2 and A/F monitoring after a mate handed me one as a gift for my 2008 MazdaSpeed 3. I have for the past couple of hours been searching this forum and Prof Wiki and Dr Google but still couldnt come up with the answer. I know the debate on whether the car needs one and have decided to put it into the car

With this particular TT, What importance does the A/F ratio and O2 monitoring have to do with the turbo timing feature especially if its just monitoring the narrow band sensor? Can the turbo timing function work without connecting it to the O2 monitoring and/or A/F ratio monitoring?

the TT will work without connecting the o2 and af. The TT Im guessing will take those values and determine how long to leave your car on. The MS3 does have a wide band o2 sensor but you can just set a default time.
