2004 mazda 3 GT GFX, manual
Hi Everyone...I have had my silver sedan gt with gfx package for about 3months now everything seems to be good except for a couple of small issues just wondering if anyone else has had these seem issues and what the possible causes could be....

1) clock has lost between 15-30 minutes on 4-5 different occasions turn off car clock is right get back in later on and clock is slow 15-30 minutes...

2) Seem to be feeling some hesitation in power in the lower rpm range 1500-4k when i first start to drive my car..I always let it warm up for a few minutes and it seems to happen the odd time when i have been driving for a while also..

3) now i know that this issue has been raised before but I havent seen any one from canada raise it.....i have numerous deep paint chips on the hood of my car have only been on one highway trip and have waxed my car a couple of times...my car only has 5k kms on it and already has noticeable chipping on the hood...has anyone else in canada experienced this problem and if so has anyone discussed it with their dealer or mazda canada

anyways overall love the car still look forward to driving it everyday

thanks

I haven't had a problem with the paintchips ... yet, but I can tell you that my 3 does the same thing when you start driving it right after start-up. It slugs until about 2k rpm and then boom you're outta there. I can't figure out what it is but maybe some others may have some insight on it. If you hear anything more about this let me know.

Thanks

Do they call it a GT in Canada?
YEah GT in canada is the 2.3 litre engine fully loaded and then the GFX package is th 17" rims moonroof etc...

i do to, does it come with a badge that says GT or GFX? that would be cool. i would have liked to have a nice badge other than the "2.3" on the side.

any other comments or experiences would be greatly appreciatted

Here in Toronto there's still a ton of sand and crap from the winter on the highways. It may be causing the excessive chipping you've experienced. This problem's pretty common on the 3 though, a lot of people have been complaining about the ultra-thin paint.

The clock problem sounds really strange, do you lose you radio presets? or is it just the clock?

lost the radio presets on one occassion but just the clock the other times

Sounds like the constant power to the radio is screwed up, better take that to the dealer.

? s being rice....s stands for sport....i stans for idiot you should've gotten the sport (headshake. but past that you could go luxury on them....they say type s you say "s series mazda"....they say it isn't a luxury compact...show them the interior cause no compact has a better interior other than the evo's recarro seats and srt-4's viper inspired seats. as for the 5 spd is it just on cold runs or all the time in 1st?

as for the radio....that fuse wasn't in the 3s that I test drove so the engine was the only music I listened to plus the auto stick kept me pretty occupied since i never ever seen anything like it...after that i was to busy swinging from the oh s*** bars when my friend took the rx-8 off the lot at 9000rpms(boom08)
