Max psi with stock internal?

yea, for some reason these FWD cars have the motors all twisted around and crap inside the engine bay ;)

The sound you guys are looking for would be a pinging.. i.e. ping or ting noise and it would be quick maybe a sec. long at most.

When I heard it, the faint metallic rattling (I think it was detonation, not sure what else it could be) lasted more than a second, and this was when it was only spiking to 11, leveling off at 9. So I took out the mbc, and put in the copper plugs..hopefully this will get rid of the detonation when I turn the boost back up...

Are you running the pee that Cali calls 91 oct or are you running a higher octaine. 93 may help this problem but the injectors are just too small on the MSP. You are probally running at a super high duty on the stock injectors not to mention lower Octaine causing the detonation.

You want to be around 80-85% duty at WOT but anything above 90-95% and you will be seeing problems

When I turn up the boost I will report back with any problems

Yeah its w/ crappy 91 octane..thats all we have out here really...
I guess I thought I would be safe at around 8-9psi, w/ no other mods..but I will be listening closely to the engine if I turn the boost back up..

Not sure if you know this, but the MSP injectors are larger than the standard 2.0l FS engine's injectors.

I'm just used to people calling the 370cc injectors on the SR small So I see the same size engine w/ same size turbo and smaller injectors (2.0l t25

Don't forget that F-Series motor has been used since the early 90's in the MX-6, Probe, 626. I'd suggest reading up on Probetalk.com about people turboing those cars. I remember always hearing 12psi stock on them. Also talk to Geoff Knight (www.boosthead.com). He's been turboing KL's and FS's for years...

I spoke with Dynamic Turbo in Miami, FL and they told me that there was another orange MSP (like mine) boosting 10 psi with stock internals, and he bent his friggin rods! Be careful when adjusting your boost...you have a lot more to lose than just the race.

Hmmm
Well I have been at 12 PSI for months now in the Texas heat (110 degrees on one occasion) and it has ran perfectly.
I even ran up to West Texas and back 1400 miles round trip in the heat 2 times with no ill effects and averaged 36 MPG by shifting 1,3,5 and below 3000 RPM.
I did do a top end run while there and some speed runs with my Vericom.
All in all no pinging, or problems just smooth power.
I only run Mobil One and 93 octane. When the weather gets cooler I will be using colder copper plugs to avoid preigniton.

The 10 PSI is not what bent the rods obviously.
