Never seen anyone blow the stock pistons, even w/ BT and tons of boost. Acutally that's a lie, someone did, but i forget who and it was on another forum. That's partly because when most people do a build, they do rods + pistons. I know of 3 that have just done rods only and no problems that I know of (I'd have heard thru grapevine, but not actively following threads). A build is not in my coin purse atm, lol. It's also a loaded question.... if someone cracked one at 450whp, how do you know it's now due to tuning issues? The rod would have gone first anyways, like you alluded to. FWIW, when I build mine (hopefully in a year), I'll do pistons too, just cuz it's not that much more during a build.
