manual transaxle fluid

Have you ever noticed a problem with shifting when the dealer replaced manual transaxle fluid with 80W-90? Owners manual says to use 75-90. Car has trouble shifting gears when cold.

Secret Sauce

Use Motorcraft oil, 75W90, XTM5QS. It runs around $20 @ quart but is very popular with MS3 owners on this forum. My MS3 requires 2.6 quarts per manual, so buy 3 quarts.

Personally i wouldnt go with redline... I have seen many story on how well it do for shifting smoothness in SRT-4 transaxle but few month later most of redline user tend to have to rebuild the transaxle because syncro are shot. It could be bad luck ( or bad drivers ;) ) but i wouldt take the chance

I've used XT-M5-QS and Redline MT90, both are exceptional products and will get the job done.

I put in MT-90 at 30K, by 45K I had horrible diff whine when turning at low speeds (no complaints about shifting, though). Replaced with the Motorcraft synthetic and diff whine is gone. Worth 60 bucks to me - that diff whine was embarrassingly audible...

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Redline's product quality, if the complaint is whine at low speeds/turning (although it doesn't bother me at all, it really isn't that bad in my car.) But to say Redline caused SRT-4's or any other car's syncro's to go bad is ridiculous. That's just spreading a bad rumor about a good product. Like I've said I used the Ford XT-M5-QS too and it is a great product as well, so if the whine is too much for you guys that are complaining then go that way, I will say it again both of these products do a very good job....
