Trailblazer SS AWD ....Still a Mazda Junkie Though.
Just a comparison of the two side by side while I had both in my possession.

Just thought I would share.

definitely MAM ftw, but you gotta remember the price difference.

350 vs 1000

its unfortunate there are not more MAM manifolds floating around. its amazing how clean the collector is on the MAM manifold compared to the thunder.

Whoa that's the first time I have seen the collector on the thunder. Not a fan. Runner 4 pretty much fires directly into runner 1, ala log style.

You can see how much better having a true collector on there is in those pics.

The mam msp mani is amazing...makes me wish I never had to sell my bullhorn manifold.
Pics of it installed yet?

Sup man?... tried to call you a little while ago. Might go grab lunch up there in Santa Fe tomorrow. Hit me back.

Sorry for the TJ, on with the MAM manny hotness comments. :)

It's quite obvious that the MAM manifold had a better design.
The collector is worth alot. I suspect the difference at low boost would be very minimal, and more pronounced as it increases.
That said, there is obviously a reason that nobody else is making the MAM-style manifold. Not sure what the reason is, but everybody loves it and nobody has jumped up to the plate yet.
The Thunder manifold seems like it's fine for the price they charge.

yup, the MAM mani is beautimus. If MAM hadn't had all the s*** go down, i would have bought lots of products from them.

ya, lots of losers, him and many members here...oh well, it's a shame because most of his designs were excellent, some of the execution was flawed....too bad for all concerned!

Speaking of jumping to the plate, why don't you be the first one ??
It seams that you guys have the capabilities and knowledge and the hart to put to work something like that. Since that guy hasn't installed it yet you could get pic's of what you need to make a copy cat of it.
Unless I'm missing something that could be done in split sec, right ??
what you think STEED's

I'm not much for copying.
That said, I could tweak it, and I'm confident I could increase the overall quality. I'm not knocking the guy at MAM, but I just think I could bring it up a notch or two.
I know somebody who could design an even better collector.
I'm just not sure what to think about something like this. The reception for manifolds right now seems a little lacking, and it would have to be about 1000-1200 to be worthwhile.
Is anybody willing to pay that? Also, preserving stock location would not be my first concern, but getting the convergence angle and a good feed for an external wastegate would be primary concerns for power.
I still don't have a test car locked-in though, so these are pipe-dreams at the moment.

Indeed, the cost of such a manifold would very high but it has crossed our minds. Like I said before though, I think a direct comparison between my manifolds and the MAM would be a good idea to see if such a manifold is worth making. I don't personally believe there will be much difference in the two aside from cost. If it truly is superior then I'd be happy to assist Chris with development.

There you go. Let's get some testing with more aggressive boost.
Might not need to spend the extra cash.(drive2)
