Yeah, I b**** at him daily for my car and i think he's sick of me hehe.
But from talking to him today, he can't find a really good engine builder up here, and so without one, he doesn't want to offer a lower quality engine.

I vote for all of the forum members contribute to a Trophy for Beau. He produces great stuff for us, has to listen to us b****, and responds in kind by growing his business....GOOD SHOW...Beau. (first)

We assemble our motors. The machine work is out sourced. The main problem is the only company that I could find in AZ(at the time) that did the work I expect was so damn busy. Lead times are 3-5 months at best. Then it would always be longer than they say. I have not found a machine shop up here that does the work I expect for a motor. Yes, there are dozens of machine shops up here, but none that have shown the kind of work I want. Other problem is that all the machine work we have done is so expensive. I will not allow for anything less though. From a business stand point it has to be dropped. There are a few others that are going to jump into the motor builds and all I can say is GOOD LUCK.

We are also dropping other parts too. We are dropping the parts that take to long to get. When we are told 4-6 weeks for pistons, we tell the customer the same thing. Then 3-4 months later they show up it becomes hard to swallow. During that time the customers are usually very upset(rightfully so) and it's tough to try and expain to them that we can not control it. So Wiseco is the next to go. Spec right after. To many mistakes from the both of them and at the end of the day we get nailed for it. We are going to expand and make more parts for the Protege, MZ3, MZ6 and other Mazda lines.

I voted MAM. I don't think SU knows how to assemble a motor. Hell I don't think he knows much from what I have read

since we are on the topic of built motors, has anyone ever had any issues with a block they ordered from one of the companies known on the forum?
