Mam Fmic Install

After seeing 2 MSP FMIC installed and them cutting the bumper has concerned me.We are going to redo the instructions and write up to ensure this does not happen again. Our MSP,Sleeper and Thumper kits use the same intercooler and piping. The only pipe that is different is the first charge pipe off the turbo.Other than that they are the same kits.Of the 5 Thumper kits,30+ Sleeper kits and 7 MSP FMIC on the market, only 2 MSP users have cut their bumper. This concerns me very much.I hate nothing more than to see someone cut their facia up because they didn't read or know just how important it is to push the 3.5" thick intercooler ALL THE WAY BACK.If you don't, the bumper will not go back on right and the pipes will hit the backside of the foglights.Push it all the way back and it will clear,BARELY.It's a tight fit.Our intercooler measures 33x6x3.5 over all

Yeah, it's as VERY far back as it will go. I had to drill the holes TWICE to get it there. Its TOO tight a fitment. ANd I didnt cut as much as HE DID, but I did have to cut the fog housing and it cant be used for fogs... like EVER. lol

Can you take a picture of how far it's back? Ghost said he cut it because you have stock mounts and he thought it would be best.

I'd have to get alot of things out of the way in order to take the pics, including taking the bumper off again and we barely got it back on straight between the two of us the first time. And he's not here to help me, he's in FL. But if it wasnt cut, the pipes definetly wouldn't have fit. Wish I had pics for ya Beau.
:(

its just about touching the radiator. Any further back and there wouldnt have been anywhere left to mount it. But I'll try to take some pics of it tomorrow if it's not raining from the top. I dont think its still going to be good pics unless you see where it was actually mounted from the bottom.

why are u saying was ? this is still a very good kit, with better instructions which is gonna be supplied it will fit perfect.

yea the kit is bolt-on, no cutting, i didnt have to cut except part of the splash gaurd which was proably lik 6inchs, and the hardest part for me was taking off the bumper.

Friends dont let friends install FMIC's!

If you gotta cut part of the body.....I think I would stop and start double checking things first....Measure twice...cut once....ughh ...or not at all.Now its gonna run you another 5-7 hundred dollars to fix your **** up....thats a big oops!
Matt(second)

as I said I installed mine on Saturday and I cut nothing, but this is also the 4th FMIC and 3rd Mental Addiction one I installed so I have an advantage :) lol

I just want to make sure that i dont run into this problem thats all

Not that there's a huge difference between the yellow MSP's and other ones much, but maybe this is just one of those things with ours?? And no, cant take pics right now, I'm working until 2200 hrs.

Well, here are the pics. As you can see, the FMIC is as far back as it would go and still ended up cutting.

nope, it's FLUSH against the metal beam and the bracket has no where else to go. It was drilled twice and can not go further back.

Where did you have to cut again? Was it just on the drivers side or was it both sides?
